Sears.com selling Pentax

It seems Sears is carrying a good selection of Pentax gear: Sears.com

Including a 645 to k-mount adapter: Sears.com Not exactly a piece of kit I ever expected to see at Sears.

And I got there from an ad on an Ebay page of all things.

Not sure if this is news or should go in Price Watch.

None of these things are actually being sold by Sears...they are being sold by affiliates like Cameta Camera and Beach Camera...

Both links work for me.

They are selling a wide range of products from binoculars to lenses and kits. Why not? Sears has a history of selling Ricoh and Asahi Optical Co. cameras under their Tower brand name.

Yep, I see that now. So what is this "Sears Marketplace"? Do vendors pay to be on there or is Sears just aggregating listings? Never saw them do anything like this before.

I think it is Sears attempt to stay relevant in the age of Amazon.

and yet these prices aren't exactly ones that knock my socks off. I'll stick with B&H, Adorama, and Amazon.

I noticed yesterday that my local camera store is selling Pentax DSLRs. If I know the owner, these are three generations old, selling for a reasonable price. I may be wrong. He might have newer models. I'll double check when I go to pick up my film.

Strange, neither link works for me. In fact, searching for "pentax" gives 3 random things. In fact #2, the category TVs/Electronics doesn't even seem to exist lol

Walmart is doing it, too. It's starting to annoy me - if I want to see what is available locally (because I need something NOW or want to actually see the product before buying), I have to work to filter out the "online only" and marketplace sellers.

The above is correct. It seems everything in the world is sold on Sears.com, but that Sears simply acts as a reseller and is padding in a profit for doing so. You are always better off purchasing from B&H, Adorama and even all the Sears affiliates that have better direct prices. This is different that Target selling some Pentax products.
