Relax. Early November was started by one post by a dealer in Australia quoted here several months ago. Can't find it now. But kenspo and asahi man (nonsense Feb RE: 70~210) say not to worry.

I wrote elsewhere the absolute blackout of leaks from such sources is, in and of itself, indicative of big news coming very soon. My personal belief is they'll be shipping before Thanksgiving.

One wag asked if the entire Forum gets to give me noogies if I am wrong (no).

I don't expect to see the new camera on October 6th, just a press release saying specifications and some field testers commenting on it. There may be a few images from the camera, but they won't be good quality and all tempered with the comment that they were made "without the final firmware."

There have been few early leaks with Ricoh and the most we could expect to see would be something a couple days before the end of the embargo.
Or they have kenspo tied up with a sock in his mouth.

Since the early announcement of the Pentax full frame 3D printed body was criticized to be way too early, I'd expect that Ricoh to simply not make any announcement and ship the ff camera to B&H and amazon up for sale. One day, I'll just find that the new Pentax full frame is in stock available to order. Adam will update the banner of Pentaxforums with the special full frame offer from B&H: order a Pentax FF + 24-70 DC WR for $2499 and get a free grip.
Oh, get a grip

No new rumours because Ricoh finally decided to wait until other manufacturers unload their offers for the September/October, to price FF accordingly?

October 6th official PR, no prices mentioned? Then in few weeks the final price will be announced?
Sounds like a plan.

That would be a sign someone inside the company is using brain, after the GRII and K-S1 pricing debacles.

In other words, too much is on stake here: one wrong digit, one wrong word, one wrong official telling some nonsense (yes, Jim, we are looking at you, who ignorantly said 'who needs an FF?') and the Pentax FF could become everyone's butt of a joke.

So that they are keeping it quiet is reassuring.

the banana peel in the mix is the Chinese devaluing their yuan.
If the Pentax FF is manufactured in China then Pentax could play with the price.
If manufactured in Japan then they have less wiggle room.

I think it will be made in the Philippines, just like every other Pentax DSLR, and the 645D/Z, is.

So it's the Philippines Peso vs the Yen vs the USD vs the Euro vs ....

I am not sure if there are any sort of anticipation of Pentax FF is present to a significant degree outside of this forum. I am not sure if the entire industry is holding their breath as to what Pentax will do next. Even if they stumble, I am not sure if not many outside of this forum will make a big deal out of. I wonder if Pentax comes out with new Q with slightly larger sensor if anybody other than our forum members will make fun of. I dunno. Just saying. Interesting times. Hey that A7S2 looks cool.

Perhaps it's just the usual "no leaks until right before the official announcement". However, in this case the price (perhaps not the final one though) leaked months ago.

"We are looking at you"? Who's "we"?
I have respect for the professionals who are doing the job, and feel disgust when the armchair experts who are siting on the sidelines are mocking them for any (often imaginary, often made up) reason. I'm a professional myself, in another field - I know as a fact I can't claim I would do better without knowing all conditions inside Ricoh Imaging U.S. Because I met people who thought my job was trivial - but they didn't knew where to start, much less to get it done; I wouldn't do the same.
And guess who will try to make a fine product "everyone's butt of a joke". Yes, the armchair experts. If it was them, the camera would be much, much better and much, much cheaper and incorporate these amazing features...

Nearly anyone from any background can be a forum member. It's hard to judge forums users based on nearly no information about them, and it is even trickier to make a judgement as it's not clear what criteria should be used to classify a forum member as armchair expert or not. The best way to keep respect alive is to debate about things, facts and figures while avoiding to judge forums members.

I appreciate your appeal for respect and civility. However, your post has an implication I can't agree with - and it's precisely the issue here: that one should not judge forum members. How about people who are not forum members? How about people like Jim Malcolm, is it OK to judge him because he's not a member of this forum?
We should not use forum membership as a shield for attacking 'outsiders'. My previous post stems from my respect for the professional, for people like Jim Malcolm who e.g. would phone call Pentaxians to hear their opinion.
