Waaay too high in my opinion. That way they won't sell much. I assume Pentax will release something in the mid-range, roughly D750 level (with 2016 tech though), and between $2000 and $3000, likely at the lower end of that range. The very competitively priced 24-70 Tamron copy is showing the way.
yeah, 2000$ is a Pentaxian-budget ^^ 3000$ is Canikon-budget

And a few hours until FF unveil ^^ so excited

I seriously doubt anything will happen 6th October. They put a teaser on their website recently and announced on several platforms that more and more information will be revealed as Spring 2016 gets closer. I think they're going to continuously add bits of information and specs to the teaser, but no big announcement will be made tomorrow.

Nope, in 10 hours and 23 minutes. And there won't be much.
If you say so, I can forget about being excited...you've proven to be a reliable source in the past.

Both Asahiman and Kenspo have been silent for days. Not that could tell us anything. We'll see.

4 months until FF announced, 6 months before it is on sale, never when you will see it in a store.

But we can live vicarisly through others, who will be enjoying there full frame pentax camera no more than a year from now. Then in two years I will by a used one at a reasonable price off of this forum and live.... bla bla bla after.

7 more hours! Naysayers be darned, I'm looking forward to what I hope is a press release detailing the FF specs. Fingers crossed they announce an MSRP today too, so I can start saving up my pennies.

Does anyone foresee price drops on K-3 and K-3 II following the release or announcement of the FF?

well www.pentax.com directly points to the FF teaser. So I'm sure we'll see something appear there at midnight in Europe.

Release? or Announcement?

The announcement happened last February
The release (as in actual ability to purchase) is unlikely before May or June of 2016 and likely later.

So, no I seriously doubt the FF will have any impact whatsoever on the k-3 series. In fact we might see a new APS-C body before we see the FF. And to be honest I think the FF is aimed at a different market and will not have much impact on APS-C bodies anyway. It's not like there is any real difference in Nikon APS-C bodies price because they have a FF camera in the line.
