Release? or Announcement?

The announcement happened last February
The release (as in actual ability to purchase) is unlikely before May or June of 2016 and likely later.

So, no I seriously doubt the FF will have any impact whatsoever on the k-3 series. In fact we might see a new APS-C body before we see the FF. And to be honest I think the FF is aimed at a different market and will not have much impact on APS-C bodies anyway. It's not like there is any real difference in Nikon APS-C bodies price because they have a FF camera in the line.

No, I don't think so. An announcement actually includes details about what will be released...

What we got last February was a "notice of impending announcement." And I use the term "impending" extremely loosely.

If Ricoh were stalling, this would be the way to do it. A "notice of impending announcement, followed 6 moths later by an "announcement" including details and then a release 6 months after that. They gain a year to spool up and Pentaxians gain a year to save their spondulaks.

Looks like an announcement to me. Pentax Full Frame DSLR Officially Announced - Pentax Announcements | PentaxForums.com

But I think we are arguing semantics and your reply has nothing to do with the question I was trying to answer which was whether the FF will impact APS-C prices.

No semantics about it, every other company announces a product by telling you the DETAILS of the product. Whatever Pentax forums calls it is fine, but with no details, it's a poor representation of an "announcement." Look at it this way: Do you "announce" that your going to be engaged to be married in 6 months to someone but you can't say who they are or when the wedding will be? That's not an "announcement" that's still a wish...

The coming FF has already impacted APS-C prices. A k3 for $640? A K3II for $830? A 16-50 DA* for $785? All the DA Limited's for <$500?

THAT's a fire sale!

Ooops ! ??
So .... a new countdown, as D1N0 said ?

This is becoming tiring. Although I will not buy into a FF system, it would be nice to see some good news soon.

Well, that's the end of that.

And the World lives on and the Earth continues to spin. Good day guys. It's the end of the count.
