Does this mean the FF body is also supposed to go on sale in 2016?
Wrong.

October 6th ... OK.

Hopefully in my B&M store soon thereafter, otherwise I just may have to go up in November to Paris for the expo and/or the dedicated Pentax store.

I doubt that it will be under my X-mas tree since I just got the K-3 ... oops.

Probably, the soon to be FF announcement seems to awake trolls which were sleeping in their caves.
(and fuel some others already active)

Discouraging about the 70-200. I hope this means that the lens will be even better with regard to performance, but hard to believe it would take this long from initial announcement to get it "right."

Depends on what was wrong... a faster AF motor, requiring a bigger housing would be a complete redesign of the exterior, and retooling the equipment used to manufacture it. Redesigning lens elements would probably take even longer. Without knowing exactly what the issue was, it's hard to know whether or not they just tossed it and started over from scratch, or they had components they could work with. The only thing you can be sure of is they aren't going to hold it back to create suspense once they've got it.

If you look at the regard the Sigma, Tamron, Nikon, and Canon 70-200s have earned, this is a lens they have to get right. And as Pentax improves the AF system, this lens will have to be able to meet those standards, not just current ones. It's not good they didn't get it right the first time, but releasing a dud won't help.

Is one day better than another for an annoucement. Good news if they have a target day set. Even though the annoucnment is one day before payday I will not be setting aside funds to buy this camera. I do hope it is most everything that those who have been waiting want or need.

As already discussed, behind any performance or production process improvement, is the fact that any release prior to the FF release would not make much sense.
Better wait for the lens tests to be conducted with FF body...
