Not so much.
150-450 is definitely a useful APS-C focal lenght.

Wouldn't a fast-focusing f/2.8 telephoto zoom be a useful APS-C lens, too?

Why not, but 70-200 typically calls for wedding FF rather than APS-C folks.

A shame, since you mention that range, that 100-300 range ain't getting any love anymore. Sigma's was a nice lens.
