I am afraid you didn't get the pun .

(just a clue: look at what's written on any road map published by Pentax)

Do you lovingly cradle your pre-production FF at night, telling it that soon, soon it will be able to leave the house and be free?

That's why I was so surprised. So I went back and included my credit card number and it's ready to check out. See attachment.
Sheesh - they are charging $12 of S&H when you are already spending $2.3K?! Talk about nickel and diming.

You need to consider what percentage the $12 is of the shop's profit, not of the selling price of the goods.

For a $2300 lens, isn't an extra $12 of cardboard and bubble wrap worth it to ensure that your "precious" arrives intact?

I meant they should just throw S&H in for free. Most stores do that if your order is above a dollar threshold.

I'm actually less offended to pay $12 SH on a $2,300 item than I am to pay it on $23 item.

I already have a Sigma 70-200 HSM II, which is FF and I must admit I am very happy with on the K-3. But I expect/hope for more impressive performance out of the Pentax lens (particularly matched with a FF body). Plus WR is nice. The Sigma will be a great backup/ 2nd shooter on my K-3.
Yeah I have the Sigma too. Nice lens. I'll probably stick with it until my bank account recovers from the FF body purchase.

The real question for me is the standard zoom (24-70). I don't currently have one of those, so it'll be a real debate as to whether I bight the bullet and go with the Pentax offering....or save probably 1/2 the price on a Sigma or Tamron equivalent. To weather seal, or not to weather seal. I'm sure on a wedding shoot I could get away with my K-3 / DA*16-50 combo if the heavens opened....

Decisions decisions....

I hope Ricoh turns this around with the upcoming introductions of new cameras and lenses:

I have a FF 28-75 2.8 Tamron, which is unlikely to be amazing on the FF, but will do until all the offerings in that class emerge.

However on the FF, as a general duty event zoom, I would really like to see a quality Pentax mount 24-105 f4 arrive (or the current Sigma 24-105 f4 become available in K-mount).

I do hope my light and capable FA 24-90/3.5-4.5 will still do a nice job on K-2
