You need to consider what percentage the $12 is of the shop's profit, not of the selling price of the goods.

For a $2300 lens, isn't an extra $12 of cardboard and bubble wrap worth it to ensure that your "precious" arrives intact?

I meant they should just throw S&H in for free. Most stores do that if your order is above a dollar threshold.

I'm actually less offended to pay $12 SH on a $2,300 item than I am to pay it on $23 item.

To weather seal, or not to weather seal. I'm sure on a wedding shoot I could get away with my K-3 / DA*16-50 combo if the heavens opened....

I do hope my light and capable FA 24-90/3.5-4.5 will still do a nice job on K-2
