i've seen it happen in the motorcycle world. stuff gets sent out for free to publications.... for reviews or promotions or builds or whatever... then ends up for sale pretty quickly.

I have a question for the ambassador that maybe can read this.. You can sell the gear provided by Ricoh? I would think that the contract say "no" on any circunstances, but i dont have a contract with Ricoh or any other manufacturer, or say that after all test have been done you can dispose the equipment whatever form you want?

I'm not sure if this has already been posted, but the manual for the D FA 70-200 is available for download on the Ricoh Imaging Europe web site. It's probably been there for a while.

Direct link to the PDF (800k)

I wonder if they will have to amend all this old literature in 2016, to reflect any improvements they may have made to the lens since it's first public outing early in 2015.

As far as I remember of kenspo and his gear in other posts, he returns them, even camera bodies... Then he gets replacement ones.

it's interesting

This lens prevents flare and realizes to achieve image quality with excellent contrast. This is done by using our proprietary "Aero Bright Coating" which was created using nano-technology together with our proprietary "HD Coating (High Definition Coating)" which increases transparency and reduces reflection more than conventional multi-coatings

Looks like Andy Grob over on the FB Pentaxian group has a copy of the new 70-200mm f/2.8. He say's "end of January is the target. Serial production was stopped for a modification". However, "the AF with the current pre series is great. I love this aggressive way to focus, still with my K-3. Its completely different to every Pentax AF lens till today".

Sounds interesting.

What's up with the green ring though? Is there any logic at all as to what gets red, what gets green?

All the DA* lenses have a green ring ring at the mount and a gold band at the other end. I guess they are continuing that with the DFA* series.

Looking forward to see how good the continuous AF of the next generation of Pentax cameras will be and the new and re-engineered Pentax lenses. It is encouraging to hear the words "aggressive" when describing Pentax auto-focus.

I wonder if that also applies to the FF camera. After all, April is still "Spring".

Those who wait a lot, in this case...

If the announcement is at CP+, market availability should be in March at the earliest. April is quite likely.

Sure. Maybe it is not a development delay at all but just a desire to have the lens and camera available at the same time.
