Only two disappointments
1. I'd like to see real working body and to know specs this year. 2. Ricoh doesn't keep promises.

It's close to winter, it's time of rare using of camera for me. I don't care for new camera this time.

Could it be possible that the delay is the result of deciding to switch the core processor away Fujitsu's Milbeaut? Complete speculation but it seems to me like Samsung and Sony have made processor strides that Fujitsu hasn't quite matched... BTW, I hope there's still a team working on the next APS-C body.

If there's no aperture lever for backward compatibility to A-series lenses, the FF is dead on arrival for me. I currently own four excellent macros, including a 200 f4 SMCA-ED, and there is no way I'd purchase a FF body that could not operate them correctly. It's bad enough that the Pentax ring light will not provide pTTL metering with my MF macros.

My real bet is the disarray in the Chinese economy (which affects the entire Pacific basin) has more to do with this than we know. Add to that the current slow down in Japan and - given rumors that 50% of Pentax sales are Japan sales - well you can guess as well as I can.
That's right.
Plus the fact that Japan's public debt is still worsening at 300% of GNP... there are always a few things to worry about...

...and the lens motor contacts too whilst the coupler with the in-body focus motor is in plain sight.

SCOOOP!!!

The Pentax 24x36 camera will only autofocus with screw-driven lenses!

Hence the delay in launching the HD Pentax-D FA★ 70-200mm f/2.8 ED DC AW: they had to go back to a KAF2 mount instead of KAF3.

(just in case...)

Until spring 2016 Sony, Nikon and Canon will release new cameras and Pentax will still be behind them. As for this secrecy regarding the specs of the full frame, I think it's not quite a smart decision because:
1. No one buys K-S2, K-3/K-3 II anymore because everybody is interested in full frame, and prices drop each and every day for crop cameras.
2. There are a lot of people which were willing to wait until november (the first release date announced by Ricoh), but the number of those will continue to drop because at this moment we can't be sure that when spring comes Ricoh will say that the full frame will be available in stores in early autumn 2016.
I think there are plenty of us who could not care less when or even whether the FF drops. I'm quite happy with APS-C until maybe there is a huge discount on a FF some time in the future.

I wrote about some of these things on this forum. Collapsing Japanese market and the just 1 % marketshare outside of Japan. The slowing down of the Chinees economy could well be something that ads to the problems.

I still think That Pentax simply doesn't have the technology to make shake reduction work on the larger and heavier full frame sensor module.

I read on the dpr that the new ff will be the heart of the new Pentax system. Well maybe so if it will ever reach market........But then again that will make it a Brand more looking like Leica (exclusieve and in small production numbers) then it will be anything like Nikon/Canon/Sony.

I don't think I will be part of that. I don't think they have the staf to sell it. I don't think they have the brand name to make it to that extra league.

Having taken this long for Pentax to produce a FF DSLR I guess it is better to delay release and get it right for both the pro and the very enthusiastic amateur markets.

Anyway for your average photographer on a budget FF DSLRs are not going to feature on their radar until the prices come down a fair bit more bearing in mind you also need to buy new lenses. Currently I think the lowest price for a new FF DSLR body in the UK is around £800 and that's with 24 or 20 megapixels.

But as the light in the images coming head on the front we would have seen light inside the mirror box and details inside it (if it where images of a real camera).

But now there are just "fake" images showing very little details.
It could just as well just be the same 3D model in these rendered images that they used to make the mockup, with the lens removed and some work done on the textures. I doubt they added the aperture lever or any other parts inside the camera to this 3D model.

So I really doubt that any missing parts on these images do say anything of the finalized camera.

What if things don't improve after spring next year? What if the Chinese or Japanese economy tanks after 6 months? Would they postpone again? Nobody can predict the economy exactly. The economy stuff doesn't matter to the launch date of FF in my opinion.

This is quite amusing. After all the hype, it's once again next year.

Maybe the delay is K-3II related too. As in, the launch of that was a bit of a disaster and they had a mass recall. So the Pentax team had to spend extra months sorting that out. Which pushed back the FF by those extra months?
