May I infer from your statement, combined with the one you made yesterday:

that HD Pentax-D FA 24-70mm f/2.8ED SDM WR is indeed a rebadged Tamron lens?
You'll see in 24 hours!

"Standard zoom for Pentax full-size tomorrow, seems to be announced on September 25. Detailed specs I do not know yet, this lens is not a star lens, sounds like a simple drip-proof specification."

Does full-size mean full frame? Otherwise, it's not something FF users would go for.

Interesting. Reminds me of the DA 16-85.

Also no red ring, or gold ring, but a green ring.

I guess Tamron 'USD' = this lens 'SDM'.

Yes. Look at the picture: it's written D FA.

It's a rebadge of Tamron SP 24-70mm f/2.8 Di VC USD. Even the lock is at the same place.

So, it's just a green ring kit lens for the new FF: the FF cousin of the DA 18-55 WR.

I wonder how it will compare to my K-mount Tamron 28-75/2.8...

Hopefully a new Pentax DFA* 2.8 will be released later.

¥226,800 (incl. 8% Japanese VAT) = $1,750 = €1.875 (incl. 20% VAT).

"OK, Tamron is not bad also. I used it previous month on D750 body. Excellent but not brilliant. At least it won't be too expensive which is good for a kit lens"

That was my quote from another thread. Last statement is obviously not compatible with Pentax prices. I hope that original Tamron will be also available in K mount. With or without VC.

If this $1,750 lens is a kit lens, I prefer not to know the price of the "new D FA★"...
