That lens gets good reviews, probably not a bad idea to rebadge it for a kit lens. But I really hope we'll see more new genuine Pentax lenses soon.

1900$ and F2.8 doesn't sound like your average kit lens imo.

Looks like Asahi man is correct. October 6 will be full of frames. I'm happy for all you Full frame lovers.

The story has now been updated with more specs and it now says that the in store price will be around 160,000 yen. Much cheaper.

"Kit lens" might have been the wrong term. "Normal zoom" perhaps? Maybe they won't offer kits with the FF anyway?
I see B&H has the D810 in a kit with 24-120, but the closest shops around here only sell the D810 as body-only (while D610 and D750 are sold with either the 24-120/4 or the 24-85/3.5-4.5).

By the way, is the Tamron supposed to be any good?

I think the Tamron already exists in a non-VC version, though (for Sony)!

Optical design is the same as Tamron 24-70/2.8

heavy amount of barrel distortion at 24 mm...

LensTip think the cheaper Sigma 24-70 f2.8 offers better price/performance.
