3 Low Dispersion lenses: the 7, 9 and 13
2 XR extra refractive lenses: the 1 and 2

Why no aperture ring on the new lenses?

Waiting to see "what's new" on the "new SDM" technology...

Yes, but not before 2016.
Is there a good chance we will see FA Limited lenses updated this year?

When was the last time Pentax made a lens with an aperture ring? The FA Limiteds?

The "new SDM" technology is just Tamron USD.

2004. D FA 50mm f/2.8 macro and D FA 100mm f/2.8 macro.

Those were made that way because they thought people might use them (also) on film cameras.

Or non-electronic extension rings?

But the D FA 100 WR doesn't have one.

The only bad thing I have to say about that lens, which is otherwise truly awesome.

But the D FA 100 WR was announced 5 years later, in 2009

Kenspo already admitted it.
Rebuild vs rebadged. If you change the coatings and the composition of some of the elements, it is a different lens. Assembled by Tamron.

It is different, probably improved and assembled by Tamron in Japan. Its price is acceptable and if their QC will be good then we are happy.

Keep going Ricoh!

Do we know it's different? I.e. not merely assuming based on some inconsistent information from press releases and web sites?

It's not different. The lens diagram is the same, all that's different is the marketing of the lens elements.

It's a good, affordable lens.
And don't forget, we asked Ricoh to "make" Tamron&co launch their lenses in K-mount. That's exactly what they did

(now I must convince myself rebadging is not such a bad thing...)
