Actually based on 18-250 and 18-270. But the 18-270 probably cost more because of the super-reliable SDM motor inside.

Which is a Tamron PZD motor (just like the 24-70 "SDM" is a Tamron USD ring-type motor).

Any ideas on what the DA Wide Zoom is going to be and when it might be released?

Sorry, no. We might have some extremely vague leaks by the end of April, but I don't expect real information anytime soon.

I still hope they'll come up with something new on this type of zoom. Maybe they can make it 16-270 or follow Tamron with 16-300. Of course WR is a must.

Unless I'm missing something with what's planned, there's a huge need for a revised Fa *85mm 1.4.

Unfortunately the priority of 135mm is ahead of 85mm...

Actually it is 24-135 or 28-105 depending on which plugin are you using
If Firefox it is 24-135, in Chrome it is 28-105.
And the winner is... Chrome!

I am still surprised there is no new F, FA or D-FA lens in the traditional ultra-wide prime range 19-29mm. Reviving the old 24mm FA or 28mm FA would seem to be obvious. A 19mm like the old Vivitar A lens I sold years ago would be wonderful.

Come back, FA-J-18-35; all is forgiven!

IIRC there is an ill-defined something on the roadmap that people have been guessing at and wishing over for quite a few months now. We shall see what time brings. Until then, I have my FA28 and a couple of non-Pentax K/M-class lenses to get me by.
