I am still surprised there is no new F, FA or D-FA lens in the traditional ultra-wide prime range 19-29mm. Reviving the old 24mm FA or 28mm FA would seem to be obvious. A 19mm like the old Vivitar A lens I sold years ago would be wonderful.
There is one on the roadmap, supposedly the next D FA to be announced.

Four primes, originally rumored for 2016 but on the road map for 2017.
UWA - 20mm?
WA - 28mm?
Standard - 50mm?
Medium telephoto - 85mm?

I hope that one of the new lenses on the roadmap is a lightweight D-FA 28mm f/2,4 Limited WR

Why 2.4? Why not hope for the full 2.0? Or are you striking the balance between the size a modern 2.0 is likely to be (especially if they put in a DC motor) versus the need to be ever so slightly faster than the pro-level zoom (even if only for psychological marketing reasons)? I suspect such a thing would come out about the size of the FA31, but even so, that would seem to put it in a size class significantly below the D-FA24-70.

f/2,0 would be fine too. I just meant something around that.

But I hope it doesn’t follow the weight trend of the newly launched D-FA zooms.

You and me both. If they make a D-FA* prime, it can grow as much as it likes - but the core philosophy of the Limited primes is that small is beautiful. SAFOX-12 and a good screwdrive motor behind it should be good enough. The DA20-40 zoom had to be bigger for the zoom elements anyway, so putting in DC probably didn't add much, but the Limited primes have to be kept small.

Why are the primes listed as Single Focus Lenses rather than Single Focal Length lenses or just "primes"?
Single Focus sounds like fixed focus - this is a cognitive dissonance moment for me.

@UncleVanya I guess Pentax won't win a price for their translation.

a price? I'm guessing the price will be pretty considerable for the modernized primes.

I still think that "medium telephoto" could be 135mm rather than 85mm, for two reasons:

1) Pentax has no primes in that range (whereas the FA 77 Limited competes directly with 85s)
2) Isn't 85mm usually considered "short" and not "medium" telephoto?

But at the same time, I know a lot of people are clamoring for an 85/1.4; and it seems an odd omission if their aim is to target professionals with the 36x24 lineup. But, if they decided to bring back the FA* 85/1.4 with newer coatings but without changing the optical formula, they might not bother putting that on the roadmap (see also: the HD DA Limiteds) -- so in the best case, the near future might bring us both.
