New Pentax 24-70 lens already supported by Lightroom

This is really small news but a positive indicator that Ricoh proactively communicated with a software maker. Lightroom CC 2015.2 now available

Yes, the lens is a Tamron rebadge so profiles were probably reused. That doesn't diminish the fact that Ricoh most likely spoke to Adobe behind the scenes to get quick support.

Ha. Does anyone know if Adobe has a program like Photomatix where they will implement community-sourced correction profiles into their releases?

I know with Photomatix they will actually give you their software for free if you submit photographs of test targets to them in exchange.
PhotoAcute does (or at least did) the same: provide lens data to allow them to create profiles in exchange for free license of the software.

I'm pretty sure Lightroom allows custom lens profiles to be made by users. Dunno how effective they are, and they are definitely unofficial, so keep that in mind. You can google for them

Actually, they added support / lens profiles for a bunch of older lenses:

– Canon FD 28 mm f/2.8
– Canon FD 50 mm f/1.4
– Canon FD 135 mm f/2.5 S.C.
– Carl Zeiss Distagon T* 45 mm f/2.8 (Contax 645)
– Carl Zeiss Distagon T* 35 mm f/3.5 (Contax 645)
– Asahi Pentax Super-Takumar 55 mm f/1.8 (M42)
– Fujifilm Fujinon 50 mm f/1.4 (M42)
– Fujifilm Fujinon 55 mm f/1.8 (M42)
– Minolta MC Rokkor 58 mm f/1.2
– Minolta MC Rokkor-PF 55 mm f/1.7
– Minolta MC Rokkor-X PG 50 mm f/1.4
– Minolta MC Tele Rokkor-PE 200 mm f/4.5
– Minolta MC W.Rokkor-HG 35 mm f/2.8
– Minolta MD 50 mm f/2
– Minolta MD Celtic 135 mm f/3.5
– Minolta MD Rokkor-X 45 mm f/2
– Minolta MD Rokkor-X 50 mm f/1.7
– Minolta MD W.Rokkor-X 28 mm f/2.8
– Minolta MD W.Rokkor-X 28 mm f/2.8
– Nikon Nikkor 24 mm f/2.8 AI
– Nikon Nikkor 50 mm f/1.4 AIS
– Nikon Nikkor 50 mm f/1.8 AI
– Nikon Nikkor-H Auto 50 mm f/2
– Nikon Nikkor-P.C Auto 105 mm f/2.5 AI
– Nikon Nikkor-S.C Auto 50 mm f/1.4
– Nikon Nikkor-UD Auto 20 mm f/3.5 AI

Another evidence that using such lenses with mirrorless cameras is more and more mainstream.

Yes, there is software on the Adobe site to make the profile and a profile 'downloader' that lets you add community sourced profiles. Not many available for Pentax last time I looked.

It says so on the list of new lens profiles, under M42. If its a joke I don't know who is joking. Maybe we will see all of the Takumars soon

Well they might go and reuse SMC DA Ltd profiles for HD lenses.

Yup, not only the Limiteds, but the HD DA 55-300 as well. Lenses that are totally new to Pentax, like the HD 16-85 and 18-50 RE are recognized however.

Since a lot of sarcasm goes around on this forum I wasn't sure if you may have been joking I think this is really neat that adobe is acknowledging these great old lenses.

Yeah, it is something I would have made up if I thought of it. But sometimes, you just can't make this stuff up. I wonder if the Takumar profile was a community supplied one they rolled into the program. Maybe all of those old ones are community supplied.
