The Pentax 24-70 is actually quite inexpensive compared to the offerings from other brands. Still pricey of course, compared to consumer lenses. I agree having the 28-105 available is a good move, not everyone needs f/2.8 glass.
If the 28-105 turns out to be as good as the DA 16-85 I think it will be quite satisfactory. The 28-105 plus a fewf nice primes will make a much lighter kit than the 24-70 + 70-200 monsters.
