For those who are in the know, is there any chance the sensor will be more than 36mp? Is this part of what will surprise people?

Hope that a 'small RAW' option will be available. Even at 36MPx that's more MPx that I really need for 99% of what I do...

i thinks it will be 42mp.
it is logical that the first flagship to be 42mp or higher to compet with canon 50mp cameras and sony!!

You are funny. How did you know!!!? Kenspo is official I am not. I just happen to be a garden variety Pentaxian. I held the sucker in my hand and it felt so good, just like all the other Pentax bodies I have owned over the years. I wish they will hurry up and announce it officially. The suspense is killing me! What I saw will wipe the floor with anything out there in its price range, including some heavy hitters. Pentax is back and Ricoh mean business baby!

I just hope they will offer a nice bundle-price together with the 24-70 f2.8 - if, then my willpower will be broken and I´m "all-in" and will forget - just for a few mousclicks - how much money it is and hope my girlfriend meant it as she said, when she told me "Do what you want."

Most of the time no, but sometimes yes.
If it is 42 I hope there will be an option where the camera down samples the raw data and creates a smaller "raw"-file. Then we would have it all!!
