I was hoping it would be D750ish myself. Can't see it being that attractive to other brand photogs at higher prices....just my view.

Of course, I'd like to see it at D750 price too. And I reckon Ricoh would certainly sell a lot more K-1's locally at $2300 than at $2900, to Pentax users and other brand folks.

Unsubstantiated reports on the web saying initial pricing = €1,999 or $2,200 (not a direct currency swap as US do not have VAT) and available in kit form with DFA28-105 f/3.5-5.6

Thanks Mistral. €2K is a reasonable target segment for Ricoh / Pentax to aim at I think. Not too high, not too low, respectably if not reassuringly expensive enough

but does suggest that 36MP is more probable than 42MP. Plot thickens.
