Thanks for this information. Anyway, we have almost only one week to go. The features I am eager to see:
1) AF performance.

When I take pictures of my daughter outside with FA 31 @F2.8, as long as my daughter is moving, almost zero chance to put her eyes in focus... I really want this part to be improved.

2). Super pixel shifting on FF

It is a place that the performance of photos can exceed full 645 camera with this technique. It will be wonderful if it can work for macro works in wild (with mild wind!)

3)does 15-30 have filter thread?
Tamron version seems not to support screw-in filters.

4) prime lens (85 1.4/135 1.8/ 200 F4 macro)...

Pentax just needs to add ABCii coating, DC and WR to previous design!

5) sensor
For me , 24 is okay, 36 is wonderful. 42 is impossible(giving the low price)

6)US price before tax
$1800??? As 2000 EUR contains 20% tax? It is not impossible as current Sony a7r is about this same price.

+1 I would be really upset if they stopped production now to make those changes.

it must have if pros will want to use it,otherwise why move from Nikon?

I doubt it with a 36MP sensor,maybe with a 21-24 its possible

I think its €2000+tax its from 19% to 25% tax here in Europe

Ad 1: AF: every new Pentax camera has faster AF than the previous one. However it is still a little bit behind the competition, so it remains to be seen whether the AF matches that of D750/D810/5Ds etc. I would be very surprised if it did.
Ad 2: Pixel shift: I guess a 36 MPx camera really doesn´t need more MPx, however since this technology is already used in K-3 II it is almost certain it will be in flagship model too.
Ad 3: I doubt it, since it is going to be a rebadged Tamron they won´t do anything with optical formula (lens elements and their shapes - the shape of the front element prevents usage of filters).
Ad 4: This is the crucial question: it is obvious that standard zoom lenses like 15-30, 24-70, 28-105 have priority, however modern primes are desperately needed. E.g. there is nothing wider than the 31mm Limited, so some 18, 20 or 22mm primes are necessary. Likewise primes longer than 100mm, a fast portrait prime like 85mm/1,4 etc. So a lot of work ahead.
Ad 5: Every source hints at 36 MPx, however I would appreciate 24 Mpx or even less (something like the D5 sensor: only 20 MPx, but enormous DR and high ISO performance). Anyhow I understand the marketing importance of high MPx sensor. But hope there will be a lower-specced FF with less MPx in the future (K-2 maybe).

There is plenty of opportunity for additional models in the future. I doubt very much that K-1 will be a one off like K-01.

Within one year after the flagship K-1 I expect one cheaper model (24 Mp, fixed screen, no astro tracer),
and within two years a K-1 replacement (42 Mp, higher speeds and even better AF),
and a new variety (20 Mp, insane speed, ultra AF, ultra high ISO performance, faster then SD memory card, maybe a replaceable M.2 SSD).

1: It will be much better.

2: Haven't asked about pixel shift, but sure its there. But super? what you mean by that?

3: It will be the same as the Tamron one, just with a bit different coating and name on.

4: I won't/can't answer

5: One of those

6: They said 2000 Euro..I guess it doesn't contains any taxes (different countries, different taxes)

Im speaking in general now, since so many people ask me stuff. Im an ambassador yes, but my contract/work range, is towards pros and the pro marked. Which will be much easier now as FF finally arrives. I write stuff, share some stuff now and then here, cause i want too..not because they expect me too.

With that said, i also hope you understand that i dont know everything, haven't asked them, or haven't always the time to be the guy with all the answers etc. Im here cause i think PF is a nice place with nice people..So I'm here cause i want to, not because i have to be. So dont get angry with me for not always be able to help or answer

@5: nice answer

@6: This one is kinda - you mean 2k€ is the price without ANY taxes? So it´s possible the price will be more like 2.5k€?

@Your posts here: I can only speak for myself: I really appreciate your appearance here and the time you spend posting and answering our questions (as far as you like and are allowed to ). Please continue with it - it´s nice to have some real information between all the guesstimations and wishes
