Focus Preset mode, which instantly shifts the focal point to a pre-registered position
I'd assumed that was in lens not camera - they used to do that with the old power zoom lenses

Asahi man says this on dpreview:

The complete Antishake unit is new.
We should see this in real life

I wonder if it means that the new HD (DC?) version is in production :P
It is the old SMC line.
The lenses are preproduced and than, after the time out, they produced the units to the endcondition.
I have no information that Pentax uses the same line for HD or brings new constructions with HD coating and new glass.
Best regards

The FA limiteds have been in and out of production for decades. Lenses are produced in batches, with the same assembly line being rebuild for production of another model after completion of a batch. I have no idea much time there was between batches in the past, but I recall looking for a (second hand if need be) FA43/1.9 for a very long time. And then all of a sudden a new batch was made and I got my hands on a new copy in a matter of days. This was in 2007...

This is correct, but the last stopp was much longer than regular.
Regular was a pausebetween month and a year.
Only the new K-1 brings the production back, the plan before was a complete stopp of the FA Limiteds.
Best regards

Yay! And here (on PF) we've been discussing for years if there's enough room for FF SR with the K-mount at all
And i told the internet day by day that this is nonsense to discuss.
I told the first time 3 Years ago, that the fullframe only needs 1.5 mm to give a complete shakereduction. The new K-1 is using a complete new antishake unit, much faster and much more stable.
The K-3 and K-3II were the first bodys with improved sr,but the K-1 is complete new.
The more space in the body is used for antishake, sensor and mirror. In the new Body is the same minimum free space like in the aps-c bodys.
Serviceteams are hating Pentax for the small inner bodys
Best regards

I'm sure Heie will be along to exert his numerological skills presently.

It would appear that with optimisation of the system to better deal with "birds, aircraft or athletes", we might be looking at an AF system better geared towards sports shooters (whether with the 150-450 or otherwise). Ease and speed of access to & manipulation of these new modes will be very important here - I suspect that's why we have the new control wheel. All will become apparent in time.

You are probably right. Had it been supported by the body it would have been useful. If it's only in one lens.

It's mentioned in context with this lens, but it may also be a new snippet of information that applies to the body as a whole.

And this only one lens is only the FIRST lens with this nice extra focusmode.

Do we see SR-Mirror to get a SR-Viewfinder, like the "cool CaNikon"-guys have with their SR-lenses or how do I have to understand this part? (my damn brain starts "interpretation mode" all the time when I start reading posts here )

I hope that the new lens roadmap to be announced will include a fast 500mm+ prime tele with this prefocus mode!

Well yes sure, thx for the reply! It would have been necessary to move more parts then the mirror to get the OVF shake reduced

Still, better sr sounds good! Im really looking forward to get this cam in my hands
