A 135mm F2.0 would be welcome

Thanks for that... disappointing! However, from that test shot, it should by my calculations increase the diagonal to over 180 degrees, and the horizontal FOV from 150 degrees to 163 degrees with no top or bottom cropping of what I'll call the 'APS-C+' frame, and to 170 degrees with a little top and bottom cropping of the 'APS-C+' frame. So as long as the edge quality is acceptable, that's an improvement in cases where the 150 degrees isn't quite enough!

Semi-tele sounds more like an 85 to me.

Since 'semitele' has no optical meaning (the optical definition of a tele is a design with a converging group followed by a diverging group enabling the focal length to be longer than the dimension of the lens), I guess that anything between 70mm and 150mm is a 'semitele'.
Anyway, both 85 f/1.4 and 135 f/2 would be interesting

I'll put my money on 135mm for the semi tele as well. F/2.4 sounds very Pentaxian...
The others may well be a new 100mm macro and a 24mm f/2.8 uwa. I just don't think that Pentax will start releasing really fast lenses all of a sudden.

But a new Macro, semitele and wide prime for fullframe.
Best regards
I wonder how full frame is going to affect APS-C lens line for the next few years. Is Pentax going to focus on FF only or are they going to have some new APS-C lenses also? I am not asking about 2016 as focusing on FF is pretty obvious this year, but I am more curious about 2017 and later.

Will probably depend on the success of the FF

Out of interest, what APS-C lenses do you think are needed? Currently, the range covers 10 - 300 mm (and 560 mm). I don't expect to see any fast, wide APS-C prime lenses, as they would not be small and light, which is the Pentax ethos (but I could easily be wrong about this). And anything for FF over 300 mm can be used on APS-C, too.

Nope @timautin an HD-DFA* 600/4 is what we want
For months and months there is a good FA* 600/4 copy available on fleabay.
In actual markting view there is absolutely no customer potential for long fast lenses obviously.
In forum terms: it's proven that nobody actually wants them when it comes down to actually buying it with real money.

Everyone who really has the funds for these lenses and really wants them already has gotten one. It's not that difficult after all. The great 560 is already available.

Instead of buying those lenses typical forum Pentaxians have their bags full of excuses.
And people with their bags only full of excuses are a group of people that marketeers rightfully ignore today and tomorrow.

It would be a waste of resources to make a new 100 macro right now. We already have an excellent DFA that was updated no too long ago. Still recent prices suggest the possibility of a coming replacement. If so I hope it is simply adding HD coatings, and is not the new Macro that Ashai Man speaks of.

My money is on an 85 1.4 and 135 macro.

I agree, but If the 100mm macro will get a minor update any time soon, I wish for a focus limiter switch too.

I am pretty satisfied with what I have now (or I am going to have soon, i.e. 16-85). The only thing I complain about are loud classic style screwdriver lenses like DFA100 and FA50 - I am one of a few who does not like that drilling sound. With DC-like motor my DFA100 and FA50 would be ideal. No complaints really as for image quality or parameters of current lenses. I always repeat that I am the only limitation in my set....

So my question is more general one. It is always perceived better to have evolving system than the system that has nothing new to offer.

===

Update: my second thought is that I missed with both 50 and 100 examples - they are both FF. Furthermore I could replace FA50 with DA*55 and some new macro is the thing that are already working on

I love my FA 50, and never gave much thought to the "drilling sound." Maybe I am in the minority, but I hardly notice it.

Can't find it. Moreover, you are speaking of a 7kg and 15 years old lens, with a 15 years old noisy AF. Sure, very few people would buy a 600 f4. I won't. A 500 f4 is a lot more common (and I will surely buy one, one day). Still, having them in the lineup ensure that you know that you can invest in the brand, knowing that if one day you need to / want to / can buy them, you'll have the option. Currently I have the 150-450. If I want to upgrade, I only have the choice between the 560 or the Sigma 500 f4.5. Putting 4000€ in a f5.6 lens bothers me, and the Sigma is another old heavy noisy lens.

So surely the 600 is an extreme example, but I'm sure that there is room for at least a 300 f2.8 and 500 f4.

For long lenses, I wouldn't mind see a super compact, EDIF 400mm f5.6
