"Silly"? I get your other points but what do you want him to do, run this site as a charity? PF is one of the least commercial, members-friendly forums I know. Just sayin'.

Oh, I basically agree (and we just added two more posts to his traffic statistics). {added: five more posts if you include the three below this one}

Yet PF is asking for 3000 dollars every month month for operating costs plus the funding they get from web clicks, revenue links, and any other avenue under the surface... the forums feel like a product to me..

But I've witness numerous acts of generosity in members over the years.. be it in information, taking the time to help, or in giving of items to help.

Hey, I hope this site as it is enables Adam to quit his day job. I would have zero problem with that. But somehow I don't think that's the case...

Yes absolutely, if you put in the effort, you should be rewarded handsomely. I just wish the 'donation' theme was more honest -- the site provides services/rewards for the money one gives it. So it really is a business and not a charity..

Fair enough. Now back to business--can we change the title of the thread to "Final Countdown to Feb 18th 2016 (CP+ 2016)"?!

I tried. But it seems that effective to change the title! Anyway, we will not see the real product until Feb 25th!

According to a poster on DPR the K-1 will be officially announced in just three days. Feb 18th.

I wonder if I can stay off of this forum for that long...

edit. Sorry this is old news

Ship date: April 2016

Next Pentax countdowns after this event:
1) Next generation of 645Z, could be named as 645ZII or 645X using new sony sensor... (Before summer Olympic?)
2) Next generation of K3II (half year after SonyA6100)...
Updated the specs. We need confirmation eagerly... Basically it is a Pentax version D800/5DMkIII but with sweet 5 axis shake reduction.

Some of the specs in highlights:
1) USB 2.0 ==> Lower than K3/K3-II
2) Continuous shooting: 4.4 fps (24x36) / 6.5 fps (APS-C) ==> Speed in APS-C mode is slower than K5/K3/K3II
3) Viewfinder magnification: 0.70x. 100% field of view ==> OVF is slightly improved from K-3. 0.70x vs 0.63x (effective size)

Patience. Patience. Patience.

I can almost feel the blood curdling cries of the naysayers as they begin to formulate their thoughts on the new flagship Next day or so are going to be hilarious.

Movement on the sync speed, I can't even imagine how much the extra 20ms will help in raising the quality of images returned, afterall it has been a massive dealbreaker for years and years. Every little bit helps I suppose. BTW for my non European friends, the last couple of sentences are laced with sarcasm

Where are you getting this information from? A few of the things have been discussed, but much of your updates seem like random guesses. Are you throwing darts?
