wow! where did you get that? Now it is no longer a 3D print out, I think that is the way to tease customers.

I like the two additional wheels and the sturdy-looking tilt screen.
Guess, the big labeled wheel is exposure time (not unlike Nikon Df) while the unlabeled one is customizable, like EV-comp or ISO. With 4 non-mode dials, there could always be one wheel assigned to T,A,ISO,Ev.

Nope, you can see the inscriptions on the labeled wheel here:

Probably the unlabeled wheel is used to change the setting selected on the labeled one.

There were speculations about this LCD would be a POP-OFF Display with touch and remote capabilities...

But it isn't. And it would be impractical, as they'll have to put a battery on the LCD - with all the issues deriving from that.

what you wanted to say was: "it is most likely that it is not" unless you are a Pentax Beta-Tester of Engineeer.. :P
My iphone 4 is really old by now. I never changed the battery still it lasts for more than 2 days... And if this lcd-unit only would use its own energy source when popped off, i dont see an inconvenience... leave it on = normal display , pop it off = remote control device
what is impractical about this.

"Price Angst"?

What I wanted to say was that I've seen something strongly resembling a connection flat cable between the camera and the LCD screen.

I stand corrected, thanks for the additional info.

People would just loose it if it was detachable. would be great replacement business. The camera has wifi so there will be an app for remote.

That's the standard "unhappy no matter what" tactic; first they're asking for an articulated LCD; they'll get that. But suddenly, that's not good enough - now it must be detachable. If they'll get that too, they'll ask why you can't make phone calls and upload images on Facebook...
