As i also have said before, this first FF have another target group..They want the pros..so they have to deliver a camera and lenses that do so..Thats also why they signed me in the first place! And its easier to get serious photographers and hobby photographers to buy buy pro gear, then to get a pro to buy hobby gear! If you understand. The catalogue will expand, also on FF lenses, but the pro ones is prioritised first.

As long as the camera justifies the strategy, that's fine by me

Look - I can't afford one and I've being trying (unconvincingly) to convince myself I don't want one - you're not helping!!

Wonder if initially the K1 will be issued in a kit with the 24~70. That would add at least $1000 to the price. PAIN!

Then I'm afraid I'm going to spoil their plans. I'm a complete amateur, but I'm going to buy it!

I'm hoping for a quality walkaround zoom in the Nikon 24-120mm range.....I have the Nikon on a D750 and whilst it is not a super sharp lens, it is pretty good, significantly better than my copy of the da* 16-50mm that was great in the centre but soft over about 20% of the frame on the right hand side and in the corners (I sent it away for repair and was told there was nothing wrong with it)!! The 24-120 also cost me less than £380 new (the da* 16-50 was nearly £500 secondhand), so I'm not sure where you get a 40% higher price and it ,therefore, being half as good?? For me, 24-120 covers at least 80% of my shooting needs so it would be ideal, as well as for many others I suspect, as long as the image quality is there! It doesn't need to compete with the best primes but it does need to be at least as good as my Nikon copy!!
As the Nikon obviously is no match for even the DA* 16-50 I think so low expectations are easy to fullfill. The DA* 16-50 is there today already at a bargain price (compared what you have to pay for the slow F4 kit Nikon with all its weaknesses and lacking weather resistance). If it was sold at $120 new outside kits, maybe it was ok. For $1000 it's a sad joke.

Perfect..and a good choice! Even if they are targeting pros now, isn't the same as others can't buy it

I think it will never be...
Sigma really has to rethink the Pentax boycott. I want the 20mm f/1.4

Wasn't the LX intended to be a pro-SLR? How many of us owned one? Me for one.

I didn't say that non-pros couldn't buy it, but you won't reach pros with hobby gear..you got it?

There will obviously be a body-only version. As always.
