I just hope they will offer a nice bundle-price together with the 24-70 f2.8 - if, then my willpower will be broken and I´m "all-in" and will forget - just for a few mousclicks - how much money it is and hope my girlfriend meant it as she said, when she told me "Do what you want."
"Do what you want?" Sounds like Satan is alive and living with you…

PS: We had a running joke in high school that went something like "Get thee behind me, Satan, and push!" I don't think we had buying cameras in mind, though.

24-70 2.8 is around $1200. If the kit price is $3500, will it be deal breaker ? Keep in mind, 5d mark iii + 24-70 f4($850) is $3300 at bhphoto at this moment.

5D Mark III is also 4 years old. None of you know the prices yet, so wait until you actually know! And what you get before complaining on prices..

Let's say the combo is $3K or close to it. At that price it will be a far superior camera to the 5DMKIII. And the Pentax 24-70 f2.8 (Tamron) is a stop faster and possibly better optic than the Canon 24-70 f4. Is the Canon IS (VR)? If not, then the Pentax has another advantage.

I use mark3 as example because it's current market price is $2500, close to k-1 rumored price :-)

As far as I am aware, Canon pushes all IS to the lenses (I've never seen a Canon IS body)

You are right. I should have said the lens being IS. I assumed people will know I am talking about the lens not the body. My bad if what I said caused confusion.

Wanna to say:

For people, who buy sony pro E mount lenses, they essentially paid extra for a genuine Sony A to E mount adapter installed at the rear of lenses for every pro lens.
For people, who buy Canon/Nikon pro level lenses, they essentially paid extra for IS for every pro lens.

They did not realized how funny they are:-)

Well at first I thought the same, but then... she has to that it´s dangerous to leave a space for interpretation in answers like this

I hope we will see a price around the 3k€ otherwise I have to sell some of my APS-C glass, and I really don´t want to sell them

Well whatever - all we can do is wait and hope (and freak out in strange discussions about features we want ).

These late stages of the Pentax FF story are hard to endure.

Goddammit Pentax, hurry it up already.

Canon 24-70mm f4L has 4 stops image stabilisation on the lens, it's weather and dust resistant and has a semi macro mode with a 0.7x magnification. Pentax however is one stop faster, but it's bigger and 187g heavier. I'm not sure wich is better optical because I haven't touched the Pentax lens.

I do hope Pentax full frame will be a superior camera to 5D Mark III and I do hope it's at least the same in terms of performance as Nikon D810 which is an impressive camera.

it is logical that the first flagship to be 42mp or higher to compet with canon 50mp cameras and sony!!
At least it's hard to tell if it's more than 4 mp from those brutally downsampled samples on the preview site

It's very tempting to get sucked into wanting 42mp because increasing mp is the way things seem to be going and as Pentax only normally produced one camera per category that will be it. 36mp might look a bit yesterday, behind the curve - not sexy enough to woo converts. It has also been argued that part of the reason for the delay was in order to use the 42mp sensor. But there are drawbacks. Most pcs more than 3-4 years old would struggle with 42mp pixel-shifted images - yes, I know that they are aiming at the pro market, but that won't pay the r&d costs. Also 36mp with good noise reduction should give a better dynamic range than 42mp - and with the pixel shift option where extra sharpness matters, it makes more sense. 42 mp reduces frame rate and number of images in the buffer, too. There's a big temptation to feel a sort of GO-PENTAX-GO! - but in the end my head says that 36mp with a pixel shift option would cover more bases more of the time.
