Might have been worse. Instead of a cow, the subject could have been a jack---

I hope that the new lens roadmap to be announced will include a fast 500mm+ prime tele with this prefocus mode!
+1 ... 300 2.8, 400 2.8, 500 f4 & 600 f4 are really missing IMHO. Just as FF-friendly UWA primes.

We can even add a 200mm f/2.0 to this list

I think we may see some of those UWA optics first. Maybe a reworking of the 20~35*, a new SFL in the the under 20mm range (hopefully something a bit more compact than old FF 15mm), and maybe a new 24mm f2.8 (I doubt they'll attempt a 24mm f2-1.8 because the price point would probably be too high). A 20 or 21mm as compact as the 15mm DA would be exciting, in fact, I suspect there would be a long pre-order waiting list.

* Had one of these for my AF film cameras. It was good, but not outstanding. Edges were disappointing unless well stopped down. I would not go after a used one for the K1.

Reading this and all the specs confirmed and known... boy this cam will be a winner!!! Can't wait to try it somewhere at the dealer and play around with. Fingers crossed for a cool kit offer with 24-70 tamron and I will get weak! All those years we waited and now it's around the corner! Great time to be a pentaxian hahaha

I agree with both of you! I would prefer that they start from the 600/f4 going down but the 200/f2 would be really wonderful too (and needed also!)

Lol please, please not an OTHER 50 or so mm ^^. Look at the current FF primes line up:
- 31 f1.8
- 35 f2
- 35 f2.4 (DA lens, to be tested but reported as working)
- 40 f2.8 (DA lens, to be tested but reported as working)
- 43 f1.9
- 50 f1.4
- 50 f1.8 (DA lens, to be tested but reported as working)
- 50 f2.8
- 55 f1.4
- 70 f2.8 (DA lens, to be tested but reported as working)
- 77 f1.8
- 100 f2.8
- 200 f2.8
- 300 f4
- 560 f5.6 (DA lens, to be tested but reported as working with a little vignetting)

12 lenses out of 15 are in the 31-100mm range, and 6 are in the 40-55. 3 of them are 50mm.
I really hope we are not about getting a 52mm f1.57

You forgot the 70mm F2.4

Obviously There is a need for a 20,24 and 28 Maybe the old FA's will gain in value.

Yep, and the 40mm f2.8, I didn't know they were compatible. I added them, thanks!

Or even wider, let's be crazy . But 20 would already be great. Still, as the 15-30 is already announced, I think that long telephoto primes are what lacks the most. But being a wildlife photographer, I may not be really objective

The FA 50/1,4 should be updated with HD coatings to a D-FA variety with WR and modernized look. It should be an optional kit lens for the K-1.

I made this complaint way back (more than a year) about introducing yet another zoom or SFL in or overlapping the 28~100mm range. I suppose this is the range most used for images, but all the same additions to the extreme focal lengths are what stir excitement (if not purchases).

Yep, if they want to attract professionals, the brand image & prestige is important. A brand new 50mm 1.4 won't have a huge impact, if any. A HD Pentax-D FA* 600mm f4ED DC AW (sounds lovely, right? ) or a 14mm f2.8 will.

I agree. If I should buy a K-1 I would want a new D-FA24mm f/2.0 or similar.
