I know. I hope it is a typo just like the typo for 22 cross type AF points in these specs!

If everything is as leaked informations, there is no big surprise/wow factor at least during announcement as everyone has known the specs three days ago

Yes, 25 cross-type AF points out of 33.

1 + a column of 3 + 5 x 5 cross-type + a column of 3 + 1 = 33 AF points.

I can almost feel the blood curdling cries of the naysayers as they begin to formulate their thoughts on the new flagship
You mean the weeping and wailing and gnashing of teeth? It's going to be loud, for sure.

I could do that, but will refrain, until I can actually afford one. I want D810 IQ D750 AF, the Burst mode of a Canon 1D mkIV. I want the best of $12,000 worth of features that are spread over three or four camera systems in my one little Pentax body. Nothing else will do, oh woe is me.

That was the pre-emptive woe is me, it will get louder once the camera is released. I'm just warming up my vocal chords.

Well, the anticipation really is building here and I'm getting nothing done all day because I'm checking this bloody forum every few minutes! I'm hugely intrigued by Kenspo's post and my guess is that Pentax have done something extra-ordinary like put some kind of hybrid viewfinder in this thing - maybe like the Fuji X-Pro 1. I'm no fan of mirrorless but one of the really cool things about it is that the electronic viewfinder comes into its own when shooting in the dark (when you can't see much through a conventional viewfinder.) Now if they have done something like this it really will be incredible, although I would have thought such a system would be amazing for a concert photographer so maybe I'm totally wide of the mark here...

Either way, slow burst mode and perhaps marginally improved autofocus aside I'm very excited by this new camera and given I will need the 24-70mm F2.8 as well as a bare minimum and I have the approval of management (wife) to buy it then I will be very curious to see the bundle price in the UK for this combo. I will be one of the first to try and buy one and I only hope that the stock allocation in the UK will be sufficient to meet demand at launch. In fact that's one question I would like answered which Kenspo probably can tell us - have Pentax manufactured enough stockpile to ensure everyone who wants one in March can get one?

See - a question you can answer!!

I little bit off the beaten track, but not too much, just got Jun Hirakawa to join the Facebook full frame page. Can't believe it. Let's hope we can pick his brain a bit on the tamron lenses etc

Yes. He deserves to stand as a Pentax legend by himself!

Now tell me why some web resource is more reliable than a forum member and anyways why/how can someone proof in advance that a RUMOR is true...
That's easy! We cannot prove information from a web resource is true, but we can look at that source's past history and determine their reliability. Digicam has proven to be reliable in the past. Does that mean they are this time? No, but the odds are decent they are. The same litmus test can be used for forum members. Some have proven in the past to have accurate information before the general public. Ashaiman is the prime example.

Whether a website, a forum member, a Tamron sales rep, or your pet parakeet, past accuracy is the lens we will use first and foremost to evaluate current statements.
