It really would be interesting to know which lens she's using.
It seems to have an outer focus ring and an inner zoom ring. My guess is a Tamron 17-50. The shining ring looks silvery, not golden, but that may just be the bad picture quality.

I caught this Pentax cameo at the end of a "Bones" episode tonight. It's a teaser for next week's episode, guest starring Betty White. Looks like a white K-30...
The fact that you can't identify the camera may tell something - from this view I'm not sure you'd even know it was a Pentax if they'd chosen the black version. I'm guessing that Nikon is very active in product placement, because they often show up in these programs, and they're almost always held in such a way that we get a good view of the "Nikon" lettering for several seconds.

We can tell she has used a camera before by the way she is holding it in the classic 35mm grip.

Most actors have no idea how to hold and shoot a camera.

I dunno who Betty White is either. But lately I have been watching an American real-life crime series about forensic investigations. Cameras are featured in every case, and Pentax is much in evidence. In the latest episode I watched it was a K1000. The series is a bit old now, and so not much in the way of digital cameras, though I did see an early Nikon/Kodak hybrid monster.
Most all crime scene shows (Yes, I watch pretty much all of them) use Nikon, almost zero use Canon, and some use Pentax or Olympus, but I haven't seen an Olympus in quite a while.

I've seen some pretty silly stuff too, such as overlapping AF points on the show White Collar. And pretty much ALL the shows use the super oldscshool film SLR clicking sound, not any sort of modern DSLR clicking sound.

BTW I gave up on Bones after season 4. Can't stand that show anymore.

She's not the only celebrity that is really into Pentax.

Regards!

Hee, she does seem the Pentax type, generally, I suppose. I bet the props department just thought a white K30 would look all sciencey and high-tech, though.

I don't know ... that well chiseled pentaprism housing outline on the K-30 is pretty unique. Is there a K-30 look-alike from another vendor?

Yeah, OLD. really old, and I'm 59 so don't rag me for it. Pentax: for the enlightened young but mostly for old farts. There should be a Ricoh walker with a Pentax camera attached! YouI'll need one eventually.

Great idea. They could call it a GoSlow.

It really would be interesting to know which lens she's using. The hood looks modern, and not like a macro lens hood at all, which is a shame - because it's what she ought to be using. Still, we'll take our Pentaxes where we can get them (and I do use a Pentax for my forensic work, for the record - K-5 with DA 35/2.8 Macro).
Looks to me like a canon/nikon lens attached to an adapter.. but I could be totally wrong.
