I used to think that of the D750 screen too, which also appears flimsy and even has some cables visibly hanging out of it, but so far user reports of it breaking have been few and far between. Modern materials science at work, I guess. Things are stronger than they look.

So even assuming they stick with this design, any worries about the Pentax screen will probably turn out to be misplaced.

Won't be buying it unless it's labelled 'Ricoh'. ;-)
On top of Pentax or Ricoh, I'd stick a label "Anonymous", the brand name that we shall not name.

In person the articulating screen mechanism did not look flimsy. The rods look like they are stainless steel to protect against the weather.

I had a thought maybe that mystery extra top dial is how you lock the screen in place so it does not move around. :^)

Still / Video mode switch is located on the top plate, grip side of the prism, at bottom of taller dial and actuated by a lever.
it seems to me video is not important again...

So marginal switch..

Looks awesome! I'm really pleased to see all the manual and custom controls. Placement of things seems alright and I expect the functionality added by the new knobs and buttons will help make for a smooth shooting experience. The style is very much in keeping with higher end Pentax DSLRs, which I'm also happy to see.

Looks like all in one camera: a fusion between Nikon Df concept and D750 features, in a Pentax styled DSLR body.

well, I basically see how my 2 year old son will take that screen apart.
(he is always around when I try to make some pictures and fiddling with the camera settings and buttons)

I hope the centre of Wheel 2 also functions as a customizable button. That would be nice.

Also some more images are on DPR now, particularly of the flippy screen.

Why this camera has ISO button, ISO at the wheel and ISO could be put at front and back control wheels in different shooting modes...?

The professionals use it...

Train your son. It can be done.

For me it seems more reliable than the competitors. YOu have 4 metal supports and it can be tilted in all directions...

I like this new body! I hope it will be a low light killer so I may buy it

Richard, since you are in the Philippines, is there any chance of you rocking on up to the factory, and confirming the spec's for us all?

The plant is in the Southern part of the Philippines, I live in the Northern part. But I do have a friend, also a die hard Pentaxian, who frequently visit the plant. I'll try to talk with him and see if he knows something.

Full frame

Looks good to me, however, it's my impression that if there is to be a maintenance issue, it's going to be that mechanism that allows for screen articulation and manipulation. Time will tell.

BTW, I use those buttons all the time. I like the IIs controls and this looks good too.
