It's plausible (but unproven) that Ricoh Japan sent Ricoh USA an early model for in-office testing. USA then went ahead and shipped the display case and camera to the expo without asking Japan. Or maybe one person on Japan knew but someone at a higher level didn't.

Or maybe it was all a plot to create online outrage

I think it was more a case of show it for a bit.. pull it 'shock scandal' and get some press. SEE WHAT THEY DIDNT WANT YOU TO SEE.. CLICK THE LINK! FILM AT 11!!

In any case, it doesn't matter.. we've seen it. And now know a lot more than we did a day ago.

I am at the Ricoh booth now. Japan HQ ordered USA to stop displaying the full frame. Enjoy whatever photos have already leaked online.
I don't doubt you at all, you're reliable. But could the person telling you be making that story up, just to see what happens?

Not much is left to chance in marketing events, but, they often hire temps for these too.

I like it....

A dial to select ISO etc. then the wheel to do the adjustment. That's a big improvement from feeling for buttons or flipping through menus. Plus easy access bracketing and HDR.

It looks like it may be possible to purchase this camera just on the new ease of use functions without regard to the full sized sensor.

I'm liking their concepts on ergonomics and real pro usage.
Assuming it delivers traditional Pentax quality, they have a winner here.

I like how the adjustment wheels on the right top of the camera protude over the camera body and have good tactile edging. Both look like they will be easy to manipulate while keeping your eye on the viewfinder.

The absence of kenspo on this thread is telling.
Not sure just what it's telling - but it is!

There are currently about 4 threads here about the PhotoPlus Pentax. I think I saw kenspo posting in a couple of them.
