Possibly a working prototype, used during development and testing, but that does not mean it is qualified and it can be mass produced.

Someone accidentally put the real thing under glass instead of the 3D printed blob we all expected to see. Oops! Now Pentax has to bring the camera to market sooner. :P

Sure, something like that. All we have to do is to save money.

I personally think the camera is ready to go...I think they wanted to release a few more lenses to complement the FF system and that was the real reason for the delay. If you look at this camera, it definitely does not look like a prototype.
Kenspo, i think, said it is already ready, and the only reason it isn't released is because Ricoh doesn't have enough production capacity to create FF cameras and deal with the K-3 II recall

I think This may have been the initial plan before the cancelled October 6 announcement and somebody at Ricoh USA just went ahead and showed it anyway and is now jobless.
Sir or Madam, whoever you are, you took a hit for the team and Pentaxians everywhere thank you.

By putting the obsolete prototype Ricoh could also deliberately made a bait for a competition.
Imagine teams of engineers at Canon, Nikon and Sony wasting huge amount of valuable resources by creating computer simulations of that wierd LCD screen trying to realise how it works and is it superior to their own tiltable LCDs.
In the meantime Ricoh is already producing respectable amounts of new FF with the same tiltable screen like the one in 645Z.
Hilarious!

They are just continuing the marketing tease.

I wonder what the next 'accidental' release of info will be. Hopefully a spec sheet.

Well this is what we were waiting after the Oct 6th fail.. Pentax users needed something to talk about and something to keep our hopes high.. So this was the perfect "plan" ..

Good "play" RICOH.
