I wonder what is the function of the extra top dial at far right... Could it be working with the new extra "effects" dial or something else completely ?

GEZ, that's already covered thoroughly in the other thread which has lots of photos.

The dial with ISO/crop/wifi/etc selects what functionality the unmarked dial controls. Result: Much less need to mess around with menu screens.

What is up with that screen?

No inbuilt flash, but GPS instead? Works for me.

I really like the move of the movie switch. I hate where it is on the K3, because I never use the damned thing except on accident, and it gets flipped by accident at least every week or two, usually at the worst possible time.

Probably been thought of on the earlier thread but my guess it is a sellection spinner for the different settings associated to mode dial next to the pentaprism is set to.

Set to ISO and you spin through the ISO settings. Set to SR - SR on, SR off, pixel shift. And so forth. Kind of an extra eDial.

Sorry. Just trying to be helpful. The photos I saw on the other thread did not have as good details on all the dials and buttons, front and back, or the articulating screen. They were well into the thread, and when I had checked the thread all of them weren't there. In fact there are good ones over in the original thread, but you have to get into it a ways, like 7 or 8 pages.

Don't think anyone has eluded to this yet, but my theory for the unmarked right dial is that it might very well be similar to the Silent Multi-Controller on the Sony a99:

I tried out the a99 last year and this was the feature I loved most about it. Basically it allows you to quietly adjust iso, shutter speed, aperture or mic rec level during filming in movie mode (and it can also be used for other functions in photo mode). The only problem I had with it was its placement, you had to fidget it with your left index finger while filming. THIS on the pentax FF, if it does have the same function in combination with the selector dial, would be absolutely perfect positioning for filmmaking. As I don't see a dedicated start/stop button for movie record, I assume the top button on this dial might work as such, or otherwise the green button next t the screen may have that function. And indeed, a touchscreen makes perfect sense.

All in all it looks extremely promising for a hybrid photo-film camera, as long as there is a mic and headphone jack.

Any ideas on the little button with a padlock symbol, in the row on the front above the AF mode and RAW button .... ? Maybe a general control lock to avoid mistaken presses?

They first did that with the K-3. And it's our fault, because we couldn't decide if we want a lockable or a non-lockable mode dial, and they had to somehow implement both
