Good news if confirmed, even if not great for those who already own A or FA35/3.5

Maybe the price and availability on the A 35mm will become more favorable.

Since this lens comes out of the blue without having first appeared on a roadmap, I suspect it's a mere "refresh" of the FA645 with HD coating, in-lens motor, may be new aperture blades, WR or AW and so on, like the DA 55-300 or the DA Limiteds.

I don't believe it.
It's more for practical and economic reasons : just the previous reference improvement with limited R&D expenses, and a lot of supplementary income.

If they had that intention, both DA25 and 28-45 would have stayed/been DFA.

Not next, but maybe 5 years later model.
Anyway, such sensor doesn't exist and it will cost more than 44*33 mm

Let's hope it has OS like I said in a forum post a while back.

For this system, the primes need OS if they are going to make up a small light kit, the zooms do not need OS if they are going to be heavy tripod use lenses.

And so do Phase One with the same CCD sensor from Teledyne Dalsa.

If the pricing of the new version is typical for the newer 645 lenses, I doubt it will affect used prices much.

I'd venture the existing stock of FA645 35/3.5 has run low or out, so rather than doing another run of the existing lens - or a compete redesign - they're 'refreshing' it with some (such as ^^ these) comparatively manageable improvements. Hence no advance warning or indication of a new lens on the roadmap.
