I hope, this mean something different than rumor about 36Mpix CMOS
I think they just mean that no real Digital FF Pentax camera before

So ......... what's a "SRL" ? I know what a "SRL" is, but this one has me confused.

Oh, no. Wait. I am guessing that it is a typo ... just "poifeckt".

The title is correct and the text in error. Pathetic.

Unless that's what they call it in Japan, different order because of translation?

Well, the title uses the correct term of "S L R" ... Single Lens Reflex.

And the text of the announcement uses the term "S R L" ... so I do think that it's a very embarrassing error.

These guys caught it, too ... Ricoh continues to tease Pentax full-frame DSLR with new image and... not much else.: Digital Photography Review

No. Japanese is 一眼レフ

一 = one
眼 = eye and, by extension, lens
レフ = phonetically "refu" = reflex

One-eyed refu

But R and L are the same phoneme in Japanese, hence the easy mistake.

There is also a "PETNAX" in the Japanese text:

The part that i dont understand is if they were meaning it was pentax first full frame camera, why allude to a new format?

Maybe it really is a new format? What do you call it when you are able to switch between formats? A hybrid full frame?

It's new format for Ricoh/Pentax, don't you think so? Never made digital FF cameras before.

They made one, but it never made it to production.

Honestly the article look like it was made by a not so good intern. They will not make sales with that!

Yeah. Everyone here would have done much better. Cameras, too! (we're experts in making up specs and demands)

The main problem might be that it's a translation; IMO it says what it should say, without going needlessly long.
And, of course, the typical spelling mistakes (though I think Petnax is their luxury brand, under which the most interesting products are released )

Regardless, I like the strong reinforcement of the Pentax brand.

You can try to defend them but this look like amateurism. There nothing bad to not have the competance in-house, but when that's the case you should sign a contact with a company that is able to handle that for you. And you should not buy cheap.
