The use of FA★ 24mm f/2 and FA★ 85mm f/1.4 for the first image samples of the Pentax K-1 might also be seen as an homage to Jun Hirakawa, the brilliant optical engineer who conceived them (as well as DA 10-17mm Fish-Eye, DA 14mm f2.8, FA 28mm f/2.8, FA 35mm f/2, DA 40mm f/2.8 Limited, FA 43mm f/1.9 Limited, DA★ 55mm f/1.4, FA 77mm f/1.8 Limited and FA★ 80-200mm f/2/.8
).
Indeed, since Hirakawa-san, made redundant by Hoya, more exactly pensioned off (at 48!...), was then hired by Tamron for which he designed the SP 24-70mm f/2.8 Di VC USD and since this very Tamron has been "recycled" by Ricoh Imaging for their HD Pentax-D FA 24-70mm f/2.8 ED SDM WR, one can imagine there have been more than contacts between Hirakawa-san and Ricoh Imaging.
