A look from Thom Hogan and Pentax is also in the bottom.

Yes, but when was the last time Thom Hogan had anything good to say about Pentax?

Well that had to leave a mark. I have nothing but enmity for Thom Hogan. I really hope there's something in the K-1 that makes him think, "Wait, WHAT?? Where the **** did that come from?"

What he says about Nikon is not exactly complimentary

So looking at the teaser image again I see the button with the symbol that looks like a light bulb. Next to "WiFI" did anyone ever venture a good guess on what that button was for?

In this article, he is offering his sage advice to Nikon, and the suggestion to go mirrorless with the D3300 successor will gratify some here, though the proposal to keep the existing lens mount will no doubt cause some of those to choke on their corn flakes.

I notice that, in his dismissal of all Pentax DSLRs as being late to market, he pays no heed to the 645Z's success, but why spoil a good story with an inconvenient fact?

All in all, his deprecating review of all other makers tells me that he doesn't pay much close attention to anything but Nikon, which is fair enough in itself, but he shouldn't comment on other matters if he either doesn't want to spend the time on researching them, or willfully ignores what he does know.

The top LCD is small. Any concern?

I wonder how they'd squish text into it.

Aesthetically that part is something to improve in the next model.

No concern on my part. I do appreciate the top LCD on my K-5II, but I think there's enough room on the K-1 to accommodate the necessary information.

Pentax did already manage to put quite numerous informations on the PZ-1 top LCD, which was pretty small ; so i am confident we will find the core infos on K-1's screen.
Btw, i wouldn't understand if flash synch speed was lower than 1/250s, for the same comparative reason.

Not really.. in my case i only see the top LCD to check aperture, ISO, shutter speed and the battery... all the other settings are mmm "not essential", besides we still dont really know how the 3rd dial is going to work, perhaps it also works to change the information that shows the top LCD.

Exactly : on LCD, you don't need to see infos that are already displayed on the body (e.g. exposure mode)

On the subject of reduced size top LCD's, smaller seems to be a trend.

The Nikon Df sports only a tiny top LCD, and in the Nikon D750 the top LCD has shrunk quite a lot compared to the D610. Plus the new Leica SL also sports a very tiny square top LCD. Both the Df, D750 and the Leica SL illustrate that with good design, smaller can work there. Pentax can make it work, I'm sure.

Not to defend him, but maybe the logic is in it that he doesn't know any photographer personal who uses the 645Z. The US market is not the best for Pentax. He probably knows lots of Nikon users, but then again also some with Hasselblad or Phase One for studiowork.
