In fact the Sigma ( at least the 85mm f1.4 ) comes with an extension hood to use with APS-C cameras. As far as this 24-70 dont really know if it works the way it is supposed to with an APS-C, I think that there's no review about that.
The Sigma 70-200 EX DG HSM OS also comes with a hood extension for APS-C cameras, and needs it as it is susceptible to flare.

I thought someone (maybe Sigma) supplied two hoods with some lenses, one for FF, one for APS-C.
Not two hoods, but Sigma make a lens hood extender (pic related) for lenses like their full-frame design 70-200's, to help their hoods work better on the tighter field of view of APS-C.

It does make a useful difference, particularly in reducing lens flare on my Sigma 70-200 when used on the K-3.

Such hood extensions are, however, rare. Most FF lens designs and hoods seem to work with little issue on APS-C (or the lens designers just don't care).

Do you find the 36-175mm a little long compared to your DA*16-50mm? Do you it better wide open (sharper and less CA) than the 16-50mm?

In my case, no. I love the additional reach so far, especially to isolate the subject from it's background at large apertures
I'd miss more the wider ranges for landscape stills, but I am resigned to use a fixed prime (DA15ltd) for those...

Looking at the delay of the K1 and the 2.8/70-200 one may be wondering about the futrue of Pentax APS-C cameras. It would be a shame to not present an update to the K3..-APS-C series - even Nikon and Canon showed updates. On the other hand this implies a medium format, a full frame and an APS-C frame from Pentax/Ricoh for serious cameras. Not sure whether they can keep juggling all these balls at ones.

IMHO FF and MF are (will be) far too expensive to be the only formats.

You can put that worry away.

You forgot the Q. So MF, FF, APS-C, maybe a 1" line, and the Q. Plus the GR line.

If you look at the angst over in the Mirrorless and Q subforums, most believe that if anything is left behind, it won't be the APS-C line.

Ok...ok.... I've got to come clean..... I wrote to Ricoh last year and told them I couldn't afford both the DFA 150-450 and FF....... so they kindly pushed out the FF scheduled release a bit.

Generally I've found speculating on this forum much less productive than just dropping them a line with a simple request.

Do we still do "fixed that for you" on the interwebs in 2016?
