I haven't noticed anyone speculate about what name a successor to the K1 would be named. K negative 1? K0? Or maybe switch to alpha characters like KA, KB, KC?
If that is going to be K-1, then the next could be K0 and then K+1, K+2, ... ;-)

KF hasn't done KFC any harm. But given the post a few up, I can see how associating that with Pentax might be an issue!

Yes, but DVD+R was created by companies that did not want to pay Pioneer royalties. If I remember right there was a 'standard' fight with Pioneer on one side and Sony on the other. Sony lost (mostly) and the formats were all included in one player so that everyone would be happy.

Sorry, just useless trivia that has nothing to do with important things like the name of the successor to the K-1. Assuming it is actually named K-1. Which makes this thread even sillier than most................

Until Ricoh lifts the 'cone of silence' protecting the FF, speculative silliness will persist.

Yeah, but this delay means that lots of things will be recycled and recycled and recycled until Pentax finally gets around to actually telling us something ... and then we'll switch to complain mode and people will recycle and recycle and recycle complaints about how disappointed they are that some particular pet feature was not included and maybe it is time to switch to Canon / Nikon / Sony / Olympus / ...

Are you saying it will stop when they do? I thought we were speculating about the name of an unannounced potential / possible successor to the so far unreleased and unnamed first FF.

Sorry, but I think the silliness factor of that just overloaded my brain. No longer is it enough to speculate on the name of an unnamed (but at least announced) camera. Now we must speculate on the name of a camera that might be made sometime in the future if the first one is released and is successful.

Oh, sorry old chap. Did not intend to plagiarise.

Anyway, someone used one of mine above (K minus 5, k minus 3, etc), so I'm even

My expectation is that once the full frame camera is released, folks will move on to speculating about the possible release of an enthusiast full frame (ie cheaper full frame). I have seen no indication that Pentax plans to release such a camera and I would expect them to move their attention to the K3 II sequel after finishing with the K-1, but I guess we'll see.

Certainly the rumor section of the forum will continue to be the happening place here for the foreseeable future.
