Bad Photoshop, they had the camera switched off in the shot, and in post rectified the mistake. But they forgot to remove the knurling from the on/off switch in the original image.

An easy mistake to make, though it could be worse: remember the giant Pentax models?
And people where rude to me because I stated that the image of the camera with lens from front was a photoshop and not an image.

No idea why there can't be a normal image presented. Photoshop errors are normal for people who don't know what they are doing.

Nooooooo, as a former K20D owner the phrase "magenta cast" still gives me the sweats.
As a former K200D user, I know the feeling.

The 'magenta cloud' in the teaser image looks like light pollution to me, since it's mainly down in the lower right of the image. Image was probably taken too close to town.

But if you push the brightness and contrast up, you do see more magenta scattered around the place, near bright points:

Aurora Australis?
If you can see the aurora in Queensland, then the global environment is even more messed up than any of us thought.

Southern Queensland is roughly as far south of the equator as Cuba and United Arab Emirates are north of equator. It there is aurora there its not a sign of messed up environment, but messed up magnetic poles or a very extreme and destructive CME. As powerful as the one in 1859. Satellites would die in thousands and power grids would fail all over the world. The world would be set back a decade in development, but hey, there would be a fantastic show for us photographers. Just hope for a clear sky!

I thought the name was confirmed as K1 which would be fine, although LX-D would have a lot of resonance too in the pro market, that LX was a damned aspirational camera in its day!

I've not heard any confirmation - but that doesn't mean much - anyway, what about K-XL for the 40th (XL) anniversary of the K-mount (camera was meant to be launched last year )

There is a Full frame digital K mount camera in the works, it has an astrotracer, it has IBIS, It takes (at least very low res) photographs... all of these things have been confirmed.

They are for good, many people have handled said camera. Just because it isn't in your hands doesn't mean they aren't for good.

I haven't noticed anyone speculate about what name a successor to the K1 would be named. K negative 1? K0? Or maybe switch to alpha characters like KA, KB, KC?
