i dont think Pentax will be releasing any new cameras for atleast a year.

and if they do, it would be in pairs just like they did a couple of month ago.

i dont see them releasing any DP1 equivalents, because if they had something like that in mind, they would have done so already.

i dont see them releasing any FF or even god forbit MF cameras, why? they dont have the lens variety for a MF camera.

which brings me to my conclusion that if they are to do anything, its pump out high quality digital APC sized glass filling in the caps in its line up.

Personaly I don't think there will be new camera, but I wish I was wrong. New entry level would be nice, but I don't know if it's gonna happen. Main goal though. "pro" camera. They don't need to go with FF sensor. Oly stuck with their 4/3 so why can't Pentax/Samsung stick with APS-C? Basicaly I'd like to see something similar to E3 but with APS-C...

No new camera, but my hope is that all the hoopla earlier this year about K20d that never really surfaced was really about another camera that was held back to be polish up for this Fall.

Given Pentax history in the DSLR era for entry entry entry level cameras (see DS, DS2, DL, DL2, K110D), I reckon a small K2000D is quite likely. Not complaining, I'd consider one if it was cheap and small enough.
I also think it would be a savvy way of seeing off the threat of the Oly E420 + pancake

As I know what will be coming, it would be unethical to disclose it (or is it them?), but I did vote!

Cute Richard! Well, that's disappointing. Reading between the lines of some of your earlier posts I'd have to say it's business as usual. A "me too" entry level model doesn't do Pentax much good nor does it deliver the high hopes Ned hinted at in his last interview.

If it is (them instead of it) there still is hope Pentax will deliver on the niche market approach. Here's hoping there is a low MP count FF or very small travel unit.

Well, my guess from your previous comments is that we will see a low end model for the plebeian masses. However, I hope we will also see something at the other end of the spectrum ...with all the big boys introducing very attractive mid level models (ie: Nikons d700) Pentax needs to show they can stay in the game ...though for my money it doesn't have to be FF ...what do I do with my DA* lenses!

Cheers,
There wil be the usual loads of unhappy ones, you can bet on that.
That being said, would you imagine a Pentax camera making no one happy? I don't think so.

If there's one camera coming: low end or high end, go figure.
If two are coming, I think most people will be happy

Cheers,
Some Will! - Some Won't! - So What! - Next!

Now that everyone is deserting P&S in favour of DSLR's. I've been told it's a range of 16 new sub $100 P&S models as Pentax believe they can now capture and dominate this market!
