Now this must be SR-related. I guess now finally is the time for the SR-coupled phase-detect AF module to find its way into a Pentax camera (and maybe even a SR-coupled viewfinder). :P

(A SR coupled phase detect AF module takes the SR into account, so it also moves around. This will make the camera lock focus much faster).

He clearly hints at a good surprise IMO.

What are the chances that the articulating screen is also a touch screen?

Let's hope NOT.

Imagine all the settings I would change with my nose!

Highly probable, just hope you can turn it off for bertwert nose.

But on the other hand it would be okay to pinch the screen to zoom for quick sharpness verification.
There are some cameras with touchscreen already available. Do people complain about accidental nose clicks?

It will come with a nose mountable stylus with which you can select focus points.

I'm more afraid of just trying to adjust the screen position and accidentally invoking "mirror flap mode" or "delete all" or something.

I do not want to dig the full informations. Just a basket of questions. You can answer one bye one or as a whole:

1) are the CMOS pixel counts able to compete with market middle level FF?

2) does the AF use the Pentax patented technology to cover a large portion of frame?

3) Has FF applied pixel-shift technology used in Pentax k3ii?

If you look closely at the FF, there is a Dial Setting labelled "SR". That is Schnozz Relocator. For people like bertwert, it allows you to relocate sensitive areas on the camera that are prone to nasal interference. Very Handy.

A bit taller is perfect actually Only one half of my pinky fits onto the k-3. So add 1/4" in height, keep the same grip distance front to back, don't make it much heavier and I'm golden.

I think your wishes are answered. I felt the same way.
I think I like that... not much bigger than k-3 but a bit taller would be perfect and with high-end Pentax ergonomics of course.

I was a fully functional unit. It powered on and I tried a few lenses on there.
Lucky you... thanks for reporting and sharing (though limited but it's ok).

I said i knew the details of release : which means end of NDA/official announcement, first availability in France for Pentax fans/embassadors presentation, and some clues re. effective market launch period ; but I do know nothing re. specifications
I would answer to your questions on a quite speculative way :
a) yes, 36 Mpix is highly probable
b) no idea about AF : this seems to be a truly hidden secret
c) yes

Thanks for your answer. For AF, my speculation is that the AF module will be reused in 645Zii and therefore will cover a decent portion of FF.

I'm a left eye shooter, so my nose is always on the screen. I image the technology is now sophisticated enough to deal with nose plants on touchscreens.
