I'm still skeptical about Tamron.
In one of the 'Pentax Story' tablet presentations, the Pentax engineers behind the DFA 70-200 and DFA 150 - 450 were profiled, so we can be 100% certain they are Pentax lenses.

.

As to other Pentax and/or Tamron lenses, one would have to query patent diagrams or something, I guess.

I done a lot of trade show. Almost all companies have a suite somewhere in a hotel were they will prep customer(dealer) about non public stuff. That the way the business is done. The business in not done on the convention floor.
Anyway , if the lauch date is in february , dealers have already place their order and Ricoh is probing new dealers. If you are in the Camera business, you know that Pentax is coming with a FF. If you stop at their booth and a credible potential dealer, them they receive a special invitation to visit the suite and talk with the distribution manager. If you are just a nobody, at the booth you will get the standard phrase, it's coming.

Yeah, yeah, OK. My bad. I'm still skeptical about Tamron.
Just the 24-70 and 15-30 IMO.

I am a nobody but I got to see the camera in the "secret dealer room." I guess it pays to be nice and ask nicely. When they found out I was a diehard Pentaxian and was not interested in the Theta show, some nice guy decided to let me take a peak at the camera. It was a working model, and it is a beast. Tons of nice features, talk about a beast of a camera. There was a tape on the name but I did not want to be disrespectful by pulling it off.

With all the hoopla around Nikon at the CES show, the real news was at the Ricoh booth. Too bad they kept it behind closed doors. With the FF, Pentax is going to be front page news again. Get ready.

Interesting. Without telling us too much: would the K-1 just be a good alternative to the to the other FF brands (or a bit better), or would it blow all of them (including the new Nikon) out of the water???

I know you have seen it and that it must be difficult to be tightlipped. But please tell us the level of your enthusiasm on a scale of 1 to 10 please.

Also lets not forget that a 15-30mm (f2.8??) will be launch really soon so with that focal lenghts from 15 all the way to 200mm are covered by new f2.8 lenses.
I grant you that, but I would still like a smaller, lighter prime. Personally, I am covered already by zooms from 12 to 70 mm with Sigma EX lenses I bought back in the film days, though at f2.8 only from 20 mm onwards. I just prefer to use primes for wide-angles, and zooms for telephoto stuff when I can, but that's just my way. Anyway, I know that Pentax won't be able to please us all from the get-go, but we can dream, can't we?

I think we should set reasonable expectations for the Pentax FF. Good alternative to the other FF models is enough for me. How exactly do you blow a D810 out of the water??

I've read about some kind of closed room with a full current Pentax lineup here:
Pentax-D FA 24-70 mm f/2.8 ED SDM WR - pierwsze wra?enia i przyk?adowe zdj?cia z nowego obiektywu | Fotoblogia.pl (in Polish)
The guy states there was no info about the K-1 at all. Not to mention the camera itself.

If people think that the new DFA 70-200 mm is heavy, wait till they get a load of the 400mm F2.8!
So weight is not absolute but relative? If so, you should have at least two feather weight Sigma 200-500/2,8 in your gear bag because of Hubble Space Telescope.

I'm sticking with absolute weight.

Actually the Hubble main telescope has a focal length of 57,600mm and an f-number of 24.

Strap some dynamite around it and throw it in the bath?

Before the corrective optics were installed, it had excellent bokeh. But bokeh was not in fashion then so some really smart people at Kodak devised a set of corrective lenses.
