But that would make the Pentax FF bigger, and I thought we wanted a compact-ish FF.
From all the images we've seen so far, it does seem smaller than the D810, perhaps in the same class as D750/K-3.

But if the handling is good, with a little bit of extra space around some of the controls and buttons, I won't complain if the body ends up a bit bigger than the K-3. Some of the K-3 button placements are not ideal.

But the K-3 may still be a league or two over the D750 in the areas that matter most to a given user. It's bells and whistles kind of camera. Lot's of capability, that many people will rarely use. About the same capability for most of what everyone does, at 3 times the price.

You can't touch this with a 400mm lens and 1.7 TC on a D750. Can't even get close. Actually, if will probably be the same even with the K-1. That extra 20% resolution over a crop K-1 is going to be visible.

I have never questioned the picture quality, so no point in all those ********** bird pics...

Im talking about real pro use..with features like AF, ISO + +

But with the new FF, Pentax will for sure be up there with the big boys!

Am I reading between the lines "improved AF"?
Yeah, I know, rhetorical question as of today... Let's wait and see then!

Quite easily actually. Have you ever used one? I have for a short time and there is no way I would use that camera for work on a regular basis.

So, how to blow an 810 out of the water: Provide a camera with similar image quality, AF in the same ball park, and Pentax ergonomics. I can carry and use a k-3 with 60-250 all day and be fine. I used the D810 for less than an hour and was totally fed up with it. Of course if you have bigger hands than I do, maybe it is not a problem, but for me a camera that large is not usable for any length of time. YMMV of course and this is taking nothing away from the D810 as far as the images are concerned those are excellent.
Jatrax, the FF I tried at the show was noticeably taller than he K3. Grips came with both of my K3s when I bought them. I thought I would use them for better balance with say the 70-200 Tammy I have. But I never used them as they added quite bit of weight and heft to the camera. The new FF felt bigger in a nice way. The first thing came to my mind that heck I will not need a grip with this baby as it has more room for gripping.

A bit taller is perfect actually Only one half of my pinky fits onto the k-3. So add 1/4" in height, keep the same grip distance front to back, don't make it much heavier and I'm golden.

Me too.. my pinky floats on the K-5II unless I squish it into my other fingers. hehe

The FF body you handled, was it able to be powered on? Or was it off, no battery, and just to handle?

All I do is birdie pics Norm ..tongue in cheek (squirrel talk) but someday I hope to do headbangers/death metal, as they are more 'real' & give so much more to mankind than fuzzy flying critters.... (ps am jazz musician so not biased )

I was a fully functional unit. It powered on and I tried a few lenses on there.
