How many Pentaxfans want a new Model?

Just hoping that pentax would see this. So that "maybe" they could come out with a model, a pro model made of titanium body, water and dust sealed at the same time a new flash model titanium body, water and dust sealed!...Any thoughts on this request?

Yeah, and a whole new series of lenses, water sealed, titanium body with titanium lens cap :-))

Bostjan

PS: Don't get me wrong - there is nothing like a good water and dust sealed camera with a good lens to top it off. I Just think that titanium body is a bit of an overkill; esp. price-wise.

Considering they are pushing weather sealing I think they should update the 540 with weather sealing to match. and have a lower end weather selaed lens to match thek200d. the 17-70 should have been sealed, would make a good kit.

Would love to have the following:

Body
A K20D with size of K200D..
10-12MP CMOS Sensor
6fps
3 inch LCD
Flash Sync @ 250

Lenses
DA* 16-135mm F2.8 --> I think this is possible (but big)

That's it for me! At least as of now!

I would be very happy if Pentax would release new body (doeasn't matter what level) with new autofocus and exposure metering systems.

the 17-70 SDM is not weather sealed! they only sealed the end of the lens, where it connectes to the body. so the body is 100% sealed and the lens is 0% sealed.

Not so quick. Better a real new model rather than another model with some trivial changes.

Incredibly challenging optical design and too many compromises for it to be a viable alternative.

You can get the 16-50 and 50-135 for a lot less than a 16-135 would likely cost.

I would love a DA*135-something, preferably 400. f/4 is OK. That would nicely join with the DA*16-50/2.8 and the DA*50-135/2.8 and the DA*11-16/2.8... but oh wait... that last one still only exists in Tokina version for the other brands...

On Topic... I don't need another body after the K20D. That's for sure... But will I buy a K30D when it comes? Now I say no, but that's what I said about the K20D too when I had the K10D, and I ended up preordering the K20D and getting it the first day it was in the store...

As to your request... I think the build of the current K20D is good enough for most challenges. Featurewise it's also pretty complete to me, but the K10D was already too, albeit with too many minor toothing problems.

Yes! That's exactly what I long for. 14 MPix is too much for me. 10 (or maybe up to 12) MPix CMOS with high ISO possibility and low noise would be great. The rest you mention is also very welcome. That would be a killer

1) I'll settle with magnesium and sealed. That's all I need for the construction portion.

2) a bigger grip than the k10/k20d.

3) 5 or 6 fps.

4) A cold weather battery-grip as an accessory (see my post in "dear Pentax" for a better explanation). With that said, I wonder if I could make the modifications myself??????

5) Improved AF over my mostly trusty k10d with a bit more zip to it.

6) 100 percent viewfinder.....please!!!

Note: there are other things I'd like as well, but these are the items that would really tempt me to upgrade from my k10d (in a Pentax mount anyways)

As for the other item which would cause me to part with a couple of grand:

-a 135-400 DA* f/4 lens OR a 250-400(+) DA* f/4 lens (sealing and ring type SDM motor) which outperforms my FA*400 f/5.6 lens.

OR

-a DA* 500mm f/5.6 lens with sealing & ring type SDM.
