Let's see.

I bought my Spotmatic in 1970.

I bought my K100DS in 2008.

Don't think I need a new one just yet.

I passed on the K20d due to no A/f or FPS advantage over the K10d all of the other things they did were nice but (have no need for live view) would like at least these two items added to the next generation and I will be first in line to buy it. Love my K10d though.

Bob,
You will have to hurry real fast because if they make those changes I will try to get ahead of you in line. LOL

My next purchase would be the DA*500 f5.6 if it were available

Sure, everyone wants a new model right? Better this, better that. Doesn't mean we'll actually fork out more money for it though.
A K20D with more fps and faster focussing and I'm set.

I will take any pro level Pentax can give me IF and its a big IF it is not a small upgrade from the K20. It will have to be a major step not just in picture quality but also the look of the camera.
Call me crazy maybe....but i would like to have white pro lens....OK OK OK that is Canon stuff but i am tired of seing people who take bad pics get clients because they have white lenses and ignore me because they think Pentax is not good.

Then they go to my website and notice that i take better pictures than the other guys.....oupsss

So a K2 pro....around 20 megapixels with a better buffer
High speed burst 5frames per seconds would be great
A better focus system....faster clearer.

Price tag....wathever....they do it i will dish out the money

The fix for white lenses, spray paint. Just mask it carefully, maybe a stencile or two.

Bill I just love your comment. Plain simple and just quite right. Having learned from the hard school of knocks. I know that who is behind the body and lens is the one who makes his/her equipment work to satisfaction of wonderful photography.

One does not have to spend a fortune to accomplish excellence in photography. I prefer to keep my complaints about equipment to my self and work to find the workaround. 95% of the time I find it and move forward.

But get a K20 D in your hands for a day and you will fall in love.

Sincerely,

Wendy

Come this fall 6:45am in the morning will be a most wonderful time to photgraph with Pentax in hand.

I want a small camera body with big viewfinder.
Do you mean a 24x36 viewfinder? Note that viewfinder sizes are related to photo frame sizes.

I just want the "side effect" of releasing a new model: more attention to the brand, more buyers, more places hold a wider selection of lens and accessories...etc

As for the camera itself, the k200d will be good for me for quite some time

What I want:
  1. Small (about the size/weight of an early 80s film slr)
  2. Robust chassis with moisture/dust seals
  3. RAW only or RAW/JPEG with minimal in-camera processing options
  4. Exposure options limited to P, AV, SV, and M
  5. FF sensor
  6. Manual focus or Manual/HSM only (no motor in body to save weight/size)
  7. Bright viewfinder with microprism and split image (like the old days)
  8. Smart lens mount to allow use of M and K series lenses
  9. PC flash socket

Think Pentax LX except digital.

If Pentax is not interested, perhaps someone like Cosina might be. Wouldn't it be great to have a compact package with solid basic functionality, larger sensor, and a bright viewfinder?

Sounds good to me except a couple points. 6 is too big a compromise even for those who like MF.

On point 4 I'll say again that exposure modes are a poor way to specify photographic parameters. Instead we need dedicated controls for aperture, shutter speed and ISO... just like old film bodies had (aperture was on the lens). Each with an "A" setting to put it in automatic.

A modeless design combines complete flexibility with the ability to memorise all functions and use the camera as an extension of one's body.

Sounds good to me...now all we have to do is find someone to make it for us!
