I thought so. The K-3 AF module has hopefully given Ricoh's engineers lots of performance data to learn from, improve their algorithms, improve the scene database, etc.

Ricoh have certainly been very tight with letting people go hands on with a working K-1. Such restrictions, however, mean they may have missed some opportunities to hunt and resolve camera bugs before the official release. Time will tell, I guess.

Not a lot to get excited about in those specs - one just has to trust that there is in the performance - + some stuff not yet released?

It smaller than all film AF cameras from Pentax except *ist

But it's the level of other FF digital cameras.

I'm hoping for a specialized screen for large aperture lenses...

Much as I hate to say it, I agree.

But lets wait to see the official Ricoh info.

On the positive side, with these modest specs there will be little excuse for a high price.

I was hoping to see normal 4k video for the video people and a bit faster FPS.

I'm not shure that this is correct, K3 has USB 3.0, may be, some other info will differ too.
I assume APSC should be better than 8 Frames/sec (K3 level) and the full size should be 6.5 frames/sec
the same with the number of pictures with full speed

The feeling that it's camera of last year. Really. Nothing bad, but the specs are bit old.

K-3 has 25 cross type focus points. By the way. And USB3.0.
