There are rule-of-thirds and diagonal frame lines visible on the mirror; however, these do not reflect the APS-C sub-frame. Given that prior statements by Ricoh indicate that such a frame can be displayed in the viewfinder, this likely means there is a translucent polymer-network LCD in the viewfinder. That's precisely what a camera of this caliber needs; even entry-level models on the Canon and Nikon lineup have this feature.

Way back when I made posts contrary to the general trend and mood of the Forum. I did it over and over again. Members actually openly castigated me, accused me of troll-ish behavior, questioned my experience, asked who was paying me and the like. I mindlessly kept on, hijacking threads, arguing in circles, posting the same sentiment in three, four, five threads at a time.

I could sense I was Ignored. I was asked to go away and was told I was bothering the entire Forum.

At least I am on our side.

LCDs use polarized light to increase the contrast on the "black" areas. How will this work with a polarizing filter on the lens?

Also noticed the AF frame on the mirror. It's reassuring that the sides of the AF frame span beyond the vertical rule-of-thirds lines, which means that it's not going to be a tiny cluster in the center. The AF grid would cover a substantial majority of the 16x24mm APS-C frame area.

Not sure how this would be an issue, but I know Nikon has done this for more than 15 years (it was first used in the F80) and Canon has been using this technology since the EOS 7D was introduced in 2009.

One thing at least is clear: the camera is called K-1 because there's no room for anything more

How big is this handsome beast compared to its competitors? I hope it's a lot smaller and lighter.
Going by features, the DSLRs closest to the K-1 would be the Canon 5d3 and Nikon D810. The K-1 is 136.5 x 110 x 85.5 mm and weighs 925 g. The 5d3 is 152 x 116.4 x 76.4 and weighs 950 g. The D810 is 146 x 123 x 81.5 and weighs 980 g. So the K-1 is smaller and lighter than those.

Compared to Nikon and Canon's smaller full frame cameras with lesser specs, it's closer in size but weighs more. (Canon 6d is 144.5 x 110.5 x 71.2 and weighs 770 g, and Nikon D750 is 140.5 x 113 x 78 and weighs 840 g).

Also, if Sony is keeping the A99 around, that measures in at 147 x 111.2 x 78.4 and weighs 812 g.

Is that a wired remote door or an AC input door below the SDXC card door? What is that symbol?
Wired remote. My K-5 has the same symbol.

Is there a larger picture available than these 500x440 pixel thingies? In these I cant see anything in the viewfinder.

Scratch that, I meant "reflex mirror".

Not yet . Don't look at the viewfinder, look at the mirror that reflects the focussing screen.

Last night I was looking at that and wondering. There are two fat lines/rectangles to each side of center.. about a third out. And in center is a circle. Theres 45 degree, thin lines on the corner segments.

Does indeed look like a lot of guides/feedback available in the viewfinder.

There is also one bracket in each of the outer segments of the middle row, towards the centre of the screen.

It looks like it has a flip out screen. It is a beautiful camera. It seems t be a improved Nikon D810. I am moving on personally, when ever I use my K5II, I find myself missing the finder features of my A7II. Previewing my shots in the finder is wonderful. The LCD is always hard to see in bright sunlight.
