I thought this was a pretty hot debate in the past ... ?
Perhaps not a concern to anyone anymore ?

It will not, see the front view: no coupling lever.

OK, put the other way, what's the problem with using the rear screen?
Too bright and distracting when looking in the viewfinder. Top status screens are something best appreciated in use.

Going by features, the DSLRs closest to the K-1 would be the Canon 5d3 and Nikon D810. The K-1 is 136.5 x 110 x 85.5 mm and weighs 925 g. The 5d3 is 152 x 116.4 x 76.4 and weighs 950 g. The D810 is 146 x 123 x 81.5 and weighs 980 g. So the K-1 is smaller and lighter than those.

Compared to Nikon and Canon's smaller full frame cameras with lesser specs, it's closer in size but weighs more. (Canon 6d is 144.5 x 110.5 x 71.2 and weighs 770 g, and Nikon D750 is 140.5 x 113 x 78 and weighs 840 g).

Also, if Sony is keeping the A99 around, that measures in at 147 x 111.2 x 78.4 and weighs 812 g.
Not dslr, but still delivering images in the same league....

Sony A7 II dimensions: 126.9x95.7x59.7 mm (camera body only, excluding protrusion) - at 599 g.

Yuh - I do use the top lcd all the time myself, I'm just wondering if it's a deal-breaker or just an old habit?

The green illumination of the top LCD is much easier on the eyes at night. The top panel is also easy to read on a sunny day when I can hardly make out the information inside the viewfinder. The back LCD is likewise a challenge in the sun.

I use both at different times, for different reasons. But I can't use either when my eye is at the viewfinder!

Only was to a loud minority on the forums here. I'd say the mount isn't crippled. It just moved on.

One wish and one hope:

I wish the battery grip attached with a fast and rigid lever system like the one on the MZ-S rather than a slow and awkward screw.

And I hope that the positional relationship of the AF button to the shutter button on the grip and on the body are both the same. The fact that they differ from each other on the K-3 is one of the biggest ergonomic annoyances on an otherwise excellent camera. Really makes switching between landscape and portrait much less convenient than it should be.

From the latest K-1 image with grip, the K-1 grip looks identical to its predecessor. So (probably) all the mechanical bits like the attachment method will be the same.

Exactly.. It is way too bright esp in low light scenes where it can alter your vision for a short time. Plus, as you mention, the benefits are more obvious in practice.. I keep the back LCD turned off and just use the top panel. I've found my shooting much quicker this way.

I think Ricoh were very much proud to own such a prestigious brand; OTOH we were asking them to be ashamed of that fact, "how dare they!". The entire issue is nonsense.
Ricoh is printed on all the boxes.

As i noticed when I un-boxed my K-3, "Huh. It's really small."
