Yes. I just think a different lens deserves its own thread.

I'm afraid the EXIF data say otherwise (Sony Alpha 7R)

It looks like an interesting lens!
Years ago, i owned a Zenitar 16mm F/2.8 fisheye, it is a rather good lens but as it is a fisheye one, i found it a bit time consuming to defisheye the photos so i sold the lens.
This 12mm could be very interesting as it is rectilinear and without distorsions, i can't wait to know its price.

I have Samyang 14mm, which is MF only. Its not a problem, if you shoot around f5.6-f11, you can catch hyperfocal pretty well. Only need to focus when doing close ups or using wide aperture. The 12mm is even wider, so that will be less of a problem.
I think bigger problem will be lack of A on aperture ring. But for such a niche lens, maybe not?
I hope this lens doesn't have the problems that Samyang 14mm used to have - decentering, quality control, miscalibated focus..

Looks like I'll be selling my Sigma 8-16mm F4.5-5.6 for this lens... that will make 4 Manual focus lenses having a prime position in my kit, the others are the Rokinon 8mm F3.5, Venus 15mm F4.0 1:1 Macro+Shift and Samyang 135mm F2.0

Actually looks like a hint of mustache pincushion distortion... albeit it a hint! not a lot!

I can get along quite well with the Venus 15mm F4.0 that lacks an A-position, yes it can lead to a dark VF but focusing is really a non-issue for anything like architecture or landscape. for macro since there are no click stops i focus at F4.0 then estimate how far to move the aperture before taking the photo, usually all the way over to F32 then back a bit for F22 or F16

Looks like it might be a good close focus lens if I'm reading the translated spec sheet right "Recent shooting distance (object distance image) 18cm" basically 7 inches.

NaCl(I luv close focusing lenses)H2O
