Source is my friend from Germany which is not a member of this forum.
He just send me today a direct link to this picture so I don't know where it comes from.
It is located on some free site for posting pictures.
Btw he told me exact specification of that lens almost 5 months ago but I didn't publish that here because I didn't believe him.
Mostly because I didn't liked that specification, but he was right obviously.

Very disappointed.
Given the target of new Full frame - professionals, expert amateurs - a constant F4 zoom would have been of more appeal than a variable aperture zoom starting only at 28mm, when Canon and Nikon offer a wider range starting at 24mm. Pentax will have a huge challenge in shaking up the very competitive full frame market, but is going the wrong way here...

Canon EF 24-105mm f/3.5-5.6 IS STM Lens 9521B002 B&H Photo Video

Canon have same a lens with that lens except for widest focal length is 24mm

many on the canon forum complained when that lens was introduced. its the lens nobody asked for. canon already had the 24-105 F/4 L USM and many prefer it to the new one.

I agree the 28mm on the wide end was a poor choice for the simple fact that it limits its appeal to only FF users whereas 24mm on the short end would have attracted some APSC users.

Why a 28-105 instead of 24-105 f4 ? or 24-120 f4 ? 28-105 is less versatile. Any benefit in terms of IQ ?

Ridiculous.

"Pros" can (and will) buy 24-70 f2.8 and 70-200 f2. 8

Whoa not ridiculous because Pentax have lack of lenses for now. I used Canon and Nikon lenses: 24-105 and 24-120 are very useful and cheap. Well it might be hard to make 24-105mm f4 because of its price since the price is very similar to Pentax 24-70 f2.8. Also, pros don't always use those lenses. I saw a lot of them using 24-105 only.

Canon has this variable aperture lens indeed.
But Canon also has the 24-105 F4 lens which is sold as a kit lens on some cameras.

I am disappointed as I was really eager about switching to the Pentax FF camera once released and sold with such a lens.
Ricoh prefers to appeal FF potential buyers with a lower quality consumer lens in order to lower the price of the FF+kit lens. Again, given the target of this camera, which is less price sensitive than the APS-C average user, I think it is a huge mistake.

Pentax can't make 24-105 f4 for now because Pentax 24-70 has similar price with canon and nikon 24-105 lenses. In this case, Pentax can't sell 24-105 lenses.
